Sounds like they addressed almost every issue I had with demons souls.

I was cautious before these videos.
Now, it's a definite day one purchase.
Hell, I'm a series fan with hundreds of hours in both games, so it was probably going to be that way anyway. :p
Also, thanks for posting VaatiVidya's stuff; the guy deserves more attention.

As for your question, I have many favourites, such as the Balder Side Sword, the Great Scythe, the Great Club, the Black Knight Greataxe, the Moonlight Greatsword and many others.
If it exists, chances are I've made a character specifically for it.
Except whips.
They suck.

I've put 500+ hours into Demon's Souls and 1300+ hours into Dark Souls.

I'll let you draw your own conclusion.

[sub][sub]I reserved Dark Souls II the very day the option was available.[/sub][/sub]

And my favorite weapons were Moonlight Greatsword, Chaos Blade and Black Knight Greataxe.

I intend to make a Dual Swordsman when I play and just like Demon's Souls and Dark Souls before it, Dark Souls II is going to have to defend itself from me. Not the other way around.

Hell yeah, I was actually irritated when the release was pushed back 3 months. I never used spell casting in DS, I found it never got to the point. Tried the pyromancy a few times and the cleric once, I would rather run into battle with sharp and point metal objects. Yes so I will get DS2 at midnight of it's release.

As for my most favorite/most used weapon: Black Knight Halberd +5 and Greatshield of Artorias +5

Absolutely. Dark Souls left me hungry for more, this will be a game I'll no doubt put a lot of hours into when it comes out. And break a lot of controllers over, I imagine.

Favourite weapon? Maybe the lightning uchigatana, maybe Quelaag's Furysword. Maybe just plain ol' Pyromancy Glove.

Yeah, as soon as I have some dough. I pissed away the last of my money on a festival and some music gear.

It was totally worth it though. That fest was sweet.

Oh, yeah. Favourite weapons? I use all the dark knight weapons a fair bit, but I'm quite keen on maces too. The one I've used most of all is the dark knight halberd.

Definitely, I just need to decide if I'm getting it for PS3, PC, or both.

I just upgraded my PC, so I know it's ready for it. But something wants me to have a PS3 copy as a back-up.

Probably, might even get it within the first 6 months of release! (that about the earliest I buy a game cause I'm a cheap bastard).

Fav weapon:, hmm I bad at picking favs. I like my Moonlit Greatsword, the rapiers, Estoc and Great scythe.

I'll definitely be getting it day one. My favorite weapon is the Bandit Knife because swords are for girly men.

I'll be picking it up day one, regardless of weather i can afford it or not lol. I can only assume a PS4 optimized version will be released that will be closer to the PC visuals, if not quite on par, and will pick it up for that most likely. Otherwise it will PS3, because i just like being in my tiny room, with my huge ass TV and ridiculous surround sound for Souls games lol

GOSH DARN YES.

ALL OF THE HYPE.

Yui Tanimura seems like he really gets the Souls series and what it's trying to achieve, dual weapons becoming a proper playstyle not just something some people do because they're too proud to have a shield, sorcery looking pretty damn good and possibly being able to handle melee combat on its own, beautiful cloth physics, PvP incorporated into Mirror Knight boss fight, enemy AI improved, more equip slots...as long as they've improved that fucking fall animation I saw in the previews, it makes be nauseous (not really, but the bastard spins like a top).

Although I will say when Vaati mentioned enemies' attacks will track you...a fair few of the attacks did that in Dark Souls, and some of them were really accurate, and at that stage it didn't feel fair.

Bonus question: I'll put in votes for the Washing Pole, Havel's Shield, Demon's Great Machete, Greatsword, Silver Knight Straight Sword and Dragonslayer Spear. Although I've only actually used Havel's Shield on one character, it blocks dark magic like a brick breaks a window.

...and some of the traps are just cheap. I also think the "story" gets too much credit. Granted the world is fleshed out if you read all of the fluff but its a case of: congratulations, you have no real back story, motivations, interests or goals. Now go ring these bells, Im sure theres a good reason to... Does that really pass for story telling? So I may pick it up eventually if its under a tenner...
Not going to argue about combat, you either like it or you don't, and my internet's atrocious and I'm in Australia, so PvP sucks for me too.

There are like less than 5 traps in the whole game that are 'just cheap'. I would say Bed of Chaos, the Silver Knight Archers, the very first Mimic out of necessity, Seath's first encounter and that's about it with a bit of room for things I haven't thought of. Generally I found traps very nicely telegraphed.

The story is also some will like it and some will not. No backstory is for role playing. It is a role playing game. There are many ways you can build your character and having a backstory already I think would have lessened that. As for the implicit nature of the storyline, the reason it gets so much credit is because no-one tells you exactly what's going on. It will seem meaningless if you don't talk to NPCs and read item descriptions, and then apply your own knowledge. I prefer reading the open description of the tower key than having someone tell me "Havel, enemy of Seath, was imprisoned in the tower for betraying the Lords". In fact we don't even know if that's Havel considering the character drops Havel's Ring, which was famously not worn by Havel but his followers. This is the kind of depth that's available when the developer doesn't shove the story down your throat. And what's more, it makes more sense for things to be implicit, because NPCs either have their own shadowy motives or plain should not know what is going on.

Anyway, if you don't like it fair enough, but the very things that lead you to dislike it are what makes it so brilliant to me, and I think that's fairly indicative of the difference between fans and detractors. Different tastes. It's not barely passable storytelling and shitty combat that has been trumped up to make the game seem good, these are things that fans like for their own reasons.

No way! Why the hell would I even spend actual money on that?! And there's probably some crazily priced collectors edition that has no place on my shelf. I'm appalled that someone would even ask for my interest in such obtuse, difficult nonsense.

And if I did manage to force myself to play the first one, I guess I would have liked the Iaito and Asian/Dex weapons, but that would only apply if I was into that stuff. Which I'm not.

Definitely. I'll be there on the front line, day one, helping to build the wikis and forming the support group that will be the Dark Souls II community. Because everyone will need all of the help that they can get.

I love Dark Souls. Passionately. And erotically. So yes, I'll be getting DSII. Especially since what I've seen of it looks fantastic.

And my favourite weapons are Ricard's Rapier and the Sunlight Straight Sword. I've also used the Murakumo quite a bit, though I like it quite a bit less than the others.
