What demos have you played that you admit made you go out and buy the full game on impulse?

I wouldn't say on impulse, but the Arkham Asylum demo convinced me to buy the game.

FarCry: Predator Instincts.

Man, i was pissed when i realised how poor that game was. The lush jungle opening turned into a wild rabbit run through boring and linear environments with enemies that have x-ray vision.

I wasn't too impressed by Brutal Legend until the demo and Arkham Asylum's demo made me pre-order the game that night.

Brutal Legend's demo made me buy it because I thought it was a Heavy Metal themed hack and slash. Which it was... For the first half the game. The only video game I ever sold within a day of buying.

inFamous did the opposite. Actually the demo made me not want to play the game at all.
I later bought it really cheap and discovered the demo was a skippable annoying little side mission that was a really inaccurate portrayal of the game. I loved inFamous.
for me though Portal and FEAR2.

UFC Undisputed 2009. Me and my older brother would play the demo non-stop, bought the game, played it all week and never touched it again.

I hardly ever play demos (although I probably should do it more), so the only one I can think of was Plants vs. Zombies on Steam. Downloaded the one hour ( ? ) demo (where you played the actual game), bought the game when it was released, played 45hours of it in a week, completed it, then never touched the game again. It was fun while it lasted though, and worth it, especially considering the low price.

Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Double Agent for Xbox 360. I had a hard time finding it actually and it cost me a lot, but the game was amazing.

FEAR 2, Tales of Vesperia and Mirrors Edge.

I'm glad those demos were great because all those games are fantastic.

The only one that's made me actively go and seek out the game is the first God of War demo. And it was worth it.

I don't play demos. Especially not these days where most of them are gigabytes in size. I prefer to watch gameplay trailers on youtube. Faster and just as efficient. (can be even more efficient if the trailer in question is from the full game)
