Well I think he?s and idiot or just has too much money if he is spending $400 to fly a porn star over for a prom but I see no reason why she should be barred from it. So long as she is dressed appropriately and not causing trouble who cares that she is porn star? I think its just people being stupid about the "evil sex industry" again.

Unless they just have a rule saying no one outside the school can be at the prom(which some schools have, mine didn't)and its not about the fact that she is porn star but even then threatening to have her arrested is a little extreme.

I had read about this earlier in the newspaper.

On one side i can see how this could enflame a huge lawsuit about discrimination about denying her entry just cause of her job however on the other the porn star probably is like 25 so it would be a bit creepy having somebody like 8 years older than everybody else. which might enflame a case of pedophillia.

Can you imagine the media circus this would cause at that prom? Of course the school wouldn't want her to come. It's not exactly good publicity and it'll spark a whole mess of extra work.

You guys are confusing me. :I

When that MW3 gaming night came up with thousands of people attending- people got up in arms about a Porn Star being rejected to attend because of her background despite that she got an invitation first hand. But the same thing happens (not exactly but similar) and no one really minds that a Porn Star is denied entry now.

Come now, it's discrimination on the school's part just like the ME3 live event. I understand the school's concern but she's not going to do anything reckless really. She's well known and most likely going to behave at prom plus since the guy was willing to pay $400 he might as well take her out on a date to make up for prom. I'd rather have that anyways, prom is alright but to dramatic for most folk these days if they don't got a date *shrug*.
Because one is an event full of adults and the other is a School. Adults shouldn't give two shits since they know better.

The School pretty much has no choice but to say she can't attend since now they know. No, just that reason.

I must be unclear on what exactly a prom is, but shouldn't the fact that she isn't a student automatically exclude her anyway? Isn't prom a celebration of graduation?
Yeah, but most proms (atleast the UK ones we seem to have imported) allow students to bring a girl/boyfriend to it if they aren't from the school.
Damn, do they? Mine didn't. Then again, my school was kind of up itself and thought it was better than it was.

I'm not sure what I think about this. I can see where the school is coming from, but I don't think that it would've caused as much trouble as they were thinking. I think that kid needs to get out more, though. $400, seriously?!

I know, right? I wouldn't do it, but the kid's got balls for asking. They need to stop castrating kids and let them have their sans-permit tea stands and porn star prom dates.
Balls. On Twitter? Now, had he sent an actual mail or called, I might have been willing to believe that, but tweeting is something else, and I don't see how it takes more "balls" than knocking over a dustbin in Shaftsbury.
ooh i'm a ruffian.

On one hand, it seems unfair to ban her on the grounds of a legal profession. (incidentally and off topic: how is it that porn is legal but prostitution isn't? Makes no sense. They should just legalise both)

The school is going to get in hot water either way. Parents will pull their kids out if she's allowed in, and liberals will go apeshit if she isn't.

Porn technically falls under the guise of acting. It is really that simple. They are "Playing" a couple that is into _________ (fill in blank with whatever perversion you find interesting. Whereas Prostitution is someone selling their body for money.)

For the record I am quite far to the left on the socioeconomic scale, and I really don't care one way or the other.

Yeah, they are pretty much damned if they do, damned if they don't.
Ya, no teen wants to go to prom with an easy chick

Anyway the kid should be allowed to go with whoever he wants, I feel like the school administrators aren't really thinking of Megan as a human being, just a porn star, She just wants to go to prom because she never got to attend hers, dont see anything wrong with that

And also to the people who are saying hes stupid for spending the four hundred dollars, kids usually pay a lot to rent hotels after prom anyway, so he just took the money from that maybe? And he doesn't have a girlfriend so it's not like he's had anything to waste his money on

Sorry but I got to say dammm! He must of been desperate to pay for a porn star to be his date.
By desperate you mean awesome, right?

To me, it just seems such a waste of money. Do 18-year-olds in America have that much disposable income? Or was he planning to use Daddy's credit card to pay for the flights.

My buddy Ted brought a Blow-Up doll to homecoming, she was wearing a lovely dress but had the most surprised look on her face the whole night...

Since when is prom school sponsored? My class had to raise money for the prom to even happen, and we held it at a local country club.

I was going to say more then I saw Minnesota... I have no problem with anyone attending a school event, so long as they come unarmed, drug free.

Uhhhhh, I feel conflicted.

On the one hand, I tend to favor positive liberty over negative liberty (freedom to things, over freedom from things) in most cases. On the other hand, unless they bar the media from this story fully (which won't be possible), this could turn into a media frenzy if she goes. And FOX. Well, FOX would have a g'danged field day with this story.

I do have to say, though, that I find this really, really funny. So there's that at least

Eh, when I was that old (hell, I'm still that old), I had more than that saved up. Still do. Then again, I save up before I buy things, and don't like to spend money. So I wouldn't spend it on this sort of thing.

I don't really see the big deal in this, but that's me. The school does have the right to deny her - I just don't see the issue behind it. Eh.
