yeah?

personally i played it on pc, however my friend played it on console and there was little to no difference beyond the fact that he was on his couch with a controller and i was in my chair with my keyboard and mouse

its the same game, the literally slightest difference is smoother graphics capabilities, just about it from what i saw.

Buying? Maaaaaybe.
Its a story game. Its decently long, and it has a fair replay value.

But to me, its not worth buying, because its a story game. Rent it twice, maybe even 3 times. Run through it all you like. But at the end of the day, a story game will almost always be a story game. Theres only so many ways it can end, and only so many ways to get there.

I personally would have bought it if other games werent higher on my list. (The Skyrim collectors edition is soaking up a large sum of my cash, saints row 3 is a must buy, and im going to get either BF3, or MW3. As much is i DONT wanna buy either, i need a new shooter. And that are really the only two viable option.))

How about, just none of that ... at all.
If that's possible.

OP: Sure, if you really want the game go get it on a console then.

If you love story games, and can play through them a dozen times, Deus Ex: HR is almost a must buy. The voice acting is spot on, the character designs are amazing, the combat is tight, without being CoD like, and the list of augmentations to choose from always gives you something fresh.

At the beginning of a game, i had a chance to get the aug that lets you punch through weakened walls. I figured using it would be rare, and it was a side feature. But as i went through the game, i noted dozens of walls with cracks on them. ((Literally, dozens)) I figured it was just texture work. But when i went through the game a second time, i took it early, and it COMPLETELY changed how i played. Almost every level can be taken down differently with just this 1 aug.

The AI is smart enough, without being an A-hole ((Where their to smart, always spot you from half a mile away, and always look in your general direction)), and the character animation they do makes them feel alot more in depth.

Definatley yes if your interested in the game by all means don't let the fact that you'll be playing on console stop you I picked it up for the ps3 and it is quite good and can be rather long my first playthrough took about 35 hours so its not short the stories pretty good but the gameplay is amazing especially when you grasp just how much freedom you have in completing objectives, you reallyget your moneys worth.

the one problem i had was with how the games controls were set up so that the action button was X.

while it works in halo. that is because halo has very small actions ie: press to flip switch

Deus Ex has you navigating menus and menus of stuff sometimes switching from X to A security terminals in particular.

other than that it was perfectly great playing it on my 52"

EDIT: this is for the Xbox no idea for the playstation

What the hell is "des-ex"?
Perhaps he means de-sex? Urgh, you wouldn't want that.

OP: There's nothing wrong with the console versions as they are just as good and they have roughly the same flaws (e.g. long loading screens) as the PC version. On top of that, it's a great and fulfilling game.

I'll just wait here while you go out and buy it...

*goes to play DX:HR for a second time*

I don't understand why you're talking about Dead Rising here.

Dead Rising was designed as a console game, and it was made by Capcom, whereas Deus Ex was designed as a PC game, and was made by Eidos.

Seriously, they have nothing in common.

Definitely get it if you're interested in it. I'm not sure I'd say it's a game I would recommend without reservations to anyone and everyone, but if you're already interested in the game then yes, it's very worth playing no matter what system you play it on.

As for the text.. some of it is fairly small. I don't have an HDTV and there were a few logins/passwords that you read in emails that are hard to make out, but you can usually at least get the gist of them such that you can make an educated guess when it's time to enter it. Other that that, I had no issue reading any of the text.

lol I was wondering if I was the only one that was sort of put off by that. I don't mind it as the action button in standard play, but it's use as the confirm/proceed button in menus and conversations just felt.. weird. It's not a big deal by any means, but I can't say I ever really got used to it.

I got it on 360 and it was like video game crack for about a week and a half. I literally went down to the store today and bought myself a used copy of Star Wars Elite Squadron just for a change of pace. Not meant in a negative way, it just sucked me in completely and I'm having to cleanse my palate if you know what I mean. I'll probably be back at it in a few days, as there's really nothing on the horizon, game-wise, for me until Gears 3, and I'm not even very excited about that. Anyway. Yes, it's definitely worth the buy on console, at least in my view.

You'll have to get used to unconventional button mapping, but that doesn't take long. Hacking can be a pain earlier in the game when you have to move up two branches simultaneously (it's pretty slow-moving with the analog stick, I imagine its much smoother on the PC. Text can be small for me when I read it on the e-mail/E-book/pocket secretary, but these bits also go to your media menu, where the text is easier to read. I don't have any real issues with the game. Some people complain about the bosses, but they've been very easy for me (I'm playing on the hardest difficulty in a Pacifist playthrough. I don't have most of the combat augmentations, but the second boss didn't even manage to get a single hit on me).

Hell yeah it is. I had zero problems with the controls on the PS3. Sometimes if you're closer to certain cover I might accidentally try and take cover there instead of where I actually want, but that's not a problem with the PS3 controls.

lol its more of an HD concern see when capcom made dead rising they made the text really small due to the game being made in HD. now i do have an HD tv but even on that the text was really small and ive noticed alot of other games with this problem as of late.
