i know this is going to be horribly lame but...

either a game where you play as kos-mos (action RPG or just action, 3rd person please) or a tactical shooter where you play as a FEMALE for once. And not one of these bald marines.

I'm not so much thinking of a specific type of game, but my dream game "platform" would be a Matrix-style virtual reality interface. "Pain" from being attacked or being low on health would manifest as an uncomfortable tingling sensation, just about every part of the environment could be interacted with, and gaming could be made less time-consuming by changing the flow of time in-game relative to the flow of time outside the game (For example, ten hours in-game could be equal to ten minutes outside the game). I'm not sure what the ideal would be when it comes to NPC interaction, however. We could go with advanced AI (Read, sentient programs), but the morality of something like that would be iffy to say the least. Anyway, I'm sure someone will come up with a solution in the hundred years it'll take for this dream to even come close to reality.

Ocarina of Time, but make Navi let me explore and not shout "HEY! LISTEN!" every 15 seconds.

OoT just missed video game perfection because of Navi. Take Navi out or make her less annoying, then the game IS perfect.

An MMOFPS featuring customizable weaponry. You are on one of four teams, each fighting over control of the entire map.

Mass Effect 3....with co-op. Yea, I went there. After careful consideration, I see no ways this would be a bad thing.

I would but it happens to be four games long and the plotline of the entire first game and end of the third game are proven to be lies and it ends with all life in the universe being wiped out and then being reborn.
or just my second person-perspective Idea (the main character is blind so she sees through the vision of enemies, animals, and even security cameras, much like the fixed-camera angles in the resident evil games only more interactive)
LOLwut? Well it seems.... unique and different I guess.

A space opera, with a slice of GTA, and some JRPG and WRPG elements thrown in... And very long, at least 2 years literally to finish, and thats skipping all the cutscenes... Lots of epic boss battles, at least 100 bosses each with their own background story... Several girls/guys you can date, and mate with, that will drastically change the outcome of the game...

A sandbox game like GTA: Vice city where I get to play as Tim Roth.

There is no set story campaign because you make one of your own by causing destruction and hilarity.

You also get to ride a fire-breathing spider.

I think I just creamed myself at the thought of this awesome game.

EDIT: Either that or a game like Team Fortress 2 except with huge armies and a map the size of WoW

I'm just the opposite, I want an assassin's creed style (fight mechanic) RPG with magic and sorcery. Co-op and dungeon builder would be amazing, too. You would have your brawler, your free-runner, your stealth guy, your mage, your archer...and all of them would be people you know online, playing in someone else's level, completing missions, that they just downloaded. Victory.

Sorry, I'm still figuring out how this forum works, I forgot to "Quote" on the post above, and I don't know how to delete this one. Forgive my double-post and continue this great discussion.

Actualy I was thinking about this earlier.

Mine would be a realistic zombie survival set in ENGLAND. There would be a lot less guns, only things like air rifles. You would have to find a place that you can fortify, and hole up in there. It would be your base, you could shelter other survivors there (dead rising style). You would have moments like the crescendos in Left 4 Dead but instead of shooting them down you have to try to keep them out of your base by barricading windows and stuff and poking them away with pitchforks.
You would have to make forays out into the village (it would be in a village not a city) to find food and a few items you can use as weapons, as well as other survivors. But you wouldn't be able to kill the zombies easily, you would have to use a lot of stealth to bypass as many as you can. You can arm certain survivors to come with you but it would multiplayer as well.
The zombies wouldn't be realy slow, they would be only slightly faster than you, so if you got chased you could run for a bit but you would have to lose them before too long.

Essay over.

If you haven't guessed, I live in England.

A game with sandbox slightly reminiscent of Prototype (superpowers, etc) with a huge friggin map (not just a city, the surrounding area and other cities too - like San Andreas), very good gameplay, and a good story. None of these are optional.
Edit: Scratch superpoweres, you'd be playing as a fucking wizard. Hell yeah!
