I'm usually the medic within my group of friends since I'm usually the only one who can stay alive longer then a minute. I don't mind though, I rack up crazy healing xp.

If it's a computer game, I play the medic or the one in the back of the crowd lobbing grenades/bullets/AOEs and hoping I don't get too much attention placed upon me by the enemy.
In real life, I play the medic or the one in the back of the crowd hoping I don't draw too much attention and get mugged.
In employment, I work in sports medicine so I help a sports team and help injured players. I watch the game at a distance and try to avoid the rival supporter's eye contact otherwise they spit on me.

Games - Sniper,Infiltrator,The one who plants the bombs in key locations.
Sports - The bullet,the one whos short and fast.still Skilled.
RL - The Comedic Guy,always cracking an Awful joke

In MMO's I either hit hard from afar or act as support/healer. In shooters I run around all over the place. In real life I'm moral support, comic relief and a tank if necessary.
I'm a Jack of All Trades. In life, in games. Maths, English, Spanish, Biology, Social Studies.
Online FPS : The Explosive Man and Snipers. Making things go boom and anti-vehicle stuff. Demoman and Heavy in TF2. Also Sniper, scoring headshot after headshot. In Bad Company 2, sometimes Recon, but mainly Engineer with Tracer Dart, x4 zoom on my Uzi and of course a Russian RPG or the manually guided rocket launcher.
Online RPG: CC or support characters. Bards, Chanters, sometimes healers.

more offen then not im the GOOD sniper of the group, and when im not sniping, im either melee or gunner, i make a preety good medic too (Scorpio Turret FTW)

i can walk into a room with 4 other guys at the same time and everyone will shoot at me.
If im not being a target, im running around with a sniper (if possible), trying to imitate stuff i saw on youtube (Check out the MW2 top 5 killcams of the week and u will see what i mean).

In TF2, I try to fill any role that needs filling, or whatever role will get me achievements. Depends on the day. However, the class I play most by far is the Engie, since I am not very good at tracking a moving target with the mouse, and I like building the stuff that enables my team to push forward.

I'm usually the guy who takes charge when no one else is willing to, or when things are going to hell in a handbasket and no one seems to know what they're doing.
i find that i end up being the "second in command" i give council to the leader of the group, and if absolutely needed, i can call the shots for awhile, but i just dont have the charisma to keep the team going on my own.
Work Horse. I am good at completing tasks not not good at planing or thinking ahead. That makes me bad as a leader but good for getting things done. I am also loyal and usually more trust worth then your average slack-jawed member so I end up being the right hand man. Whoo, for the guy who is number 2 but does no leadership!
