So picture this: You have to spend the rest of your life on a desert island. You are allowed to bring with you a TV, whatever consoles or computers you want, whatever gaming hardware (like Kinect) you want, and a solar panel that well let you power the whole thing. You are also allowed to bring five games. Let's assume they are the ultimate version of whatever it is you choose, i.e. DragonAge: Origins comes with all the DLC, the toolset, and Awakening. You don't have internet though, so no online modes allowed.

So what five do you pick?

Mine would be:

1.) DragonAge: Origins (PC)
2.) Dragonball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 2 (PS2)
3.) Civ II (or V, I need to play that one a bit more) (PC)
4.) Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords (PC)
5.) Fallout 3 (PS3)

Hmm, that's a tough one with online removed, but for science I try to compile a list! I would take:

1) Portal: Still Alive (xbox 360).
2) Portal 2 (xbox 360).
3) Morrowind (pc - duh).
4) Guitar Hero 6 (xbox 360).
5) Borderlands (xbox 360).

All of the above are games that I have played a few times and loved, or still dedicate a lot of time to, so I think I'd be content with this list :D

I love Portal, but I'm surprised you'd pick that to continue to play. I would think the puzzles would wear off once you've figured out all the ways to beat them.

I would bring...

1) The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall.
2) Baldur's Gate II.
3) Warcraft III.
4) Age of Empires II.
5) Civilization III.

I was going for longevity with this list. These five games need to keep my attention for a long time, so I choose games with massive single-player campaigns and/or tons of replay value.

That's why I put Civ in my list. There's simply an infinite amount of things you can do with that game.

Ouch, no online? Well I'd still take The Orange Box anyway for the Half Life games and Portal. The other four would be Fallout 3, Portal 2, Pokemon Gold, and Left 4 Dead.

I'd have thought so too, but I keep playing Portal 1 this long after release, mostly for speed runs and the likes. Being a game as short as it it is though, it would only really serve as a time filler between rage quitting Guitar Hero for failing at Black Widow of La Porte AGAIN and pondering how I managed to have all these nice things on a desert island. It would be a fun existence, I think :D

Vice City? Really? I mean it was a good game, I enjoyed playing it. I would just assume most would go with San Andreas over it.

I can see where you are coming from but I prefer vice cities story, radio and general tone. Plus SA had some really annoying countryside which could take ages to find a car again

1. Fallout: New Vegas
2. A Pokemon game (White/Black? I don't play them but I assume their longevity is far greater than gold/silver and red/blue)
3. GTA: San Andreas OR GTA: IV. Again whichever has more replay value, I guess IV but I really don't know.
4. Diablo 2. 3 if it's out by the time and good but I still play Diablo 2 now sometimes, so yeah, if it's expansion is included and up to the latest version, especially if I can take the PlugY survival kit with it.
If it's the unpatched one or the original only, then sod it. I'll take a Guitar Hero game.
5. Civilization game, probably 3 or 4.
