What game designers combination do you think would make the best game?

I want to see Betheseda team up with Bioware. They'd be like the Super Friends/Justice League of RPGs

Nah, Bethesda? Wouldn't work. Now Bioware plus Obsidian, that's a match made in heaven. I mean last time those studios loosely cooperated we were left with Baldur's Gate, possibly the greatest pc rpg franchise ever.

Bethesda design a world, they build it on the Rage engine, they get Obsidian to do the writing and Bioware design the combat.

People Can Fly & Rare.

Dunno about "best" but it would definitely fit the "interesting" bill.

Valve and... Well, to be perfectly honest, they don't need another company to work with them to make the best games, they already do as far as I'm concerned :p

Although if I did have to choose a second, I'd probably go with 2K/TakeTwo because of the amazing job they did with BioShock 1.

There was already such a thing, called the "Dream Team" of, known at that time, Squaresoft.

It had the very best developers at the time, developing for the best console of it's time (SNES), they were Hironobu Sakaguchi, the very creator of Final Fantasy, Yuji Horii, the director and creator of the Dragon Quest series and Akira Toriyama, the guy who created Dragon Ball. And, for good measure, they had the assistance of Yasunori Mitsuda and Nobuo Uematsu, both amazing composers of several Final Fantasy titles.

As for today's developers. Hmm... BioWare and Bethesda. 'nuff said.

That team is mostly Irrational now though no?

In a crazy ass pairing I'd say Infinity ward (or whatever they're called now) and Double Fine. Infinity Ward has shown that they're excellent at delivering solid classic shooter gameplay while Double Fine comes up with some of the most awesome crazy concepts this side of an acid trip. Maybe they would be like cats and dogs, but there's always the possibility that it would make sweet sweet video game love.

I was thinking more of 2K/TakeTwo at the time of BioShock's release, but yeah, I believe you're right and that's pretty much Irrational now, so I guess for a current developer my second choice would have to be them.

Ninjad! I was thinking of making this kind of thread when I got done with my homework! Oh well.
Blizzard + Bioware + VALVe = one fucking unstoppable company. Sure, their games would be pushed back a ton given both Blizzard's and VALVe's track record, but each game would tear the very fabric of reality and redefine the universe by the sheer awesomeness of their existence alone; and that would be even before playing it.

YA HEARD ME.
Who on gods earth are "People Can Fly" o_O
"Painkiller" and "Bulletstorm"?

You clearly don't watch much Yahtzee.

OT: Double Fine teams with Mojang. Imagine the chaos.
