Well I don't know the full details but I have read only that its only gonna be more a "Remaster" the a "Remake.Adam Jensen said:This makes me so happy, I feel like a child. This is one of those awesome obscure PS2 classics that sadly a lot of people had forgotten so I didn't think that it would ever get a remake or a sequel. What a time to be alive. I can hardly contain my joy and excitement.

Hmm infact if this was just a graphical remastering then this game would come out far earlier then 2020.Adam Jensen said:This article states the exact opposite: https://venturebeat.com/2019/06/07/how-black-forest-games-is-bringing-back-thq-nordics-destroy-all-humans/Samtemdo8 said:Well I don't know the full details but I have read only that its only gonna be more a "Remaster" the a "Remake".
They are quite literally remaking the original game from scratch with modern improvements other than just the graphics.
Coincidentally, I started a new playthrough last week. I only played the game once back when it was released and I didn't get very far in the main story. I kept getting sidetracked because of how enormous the game was. Now I'm taking my sweet time with it. I just completed every quest in the starting area, got to level 17 or 18, full sorcerer, and my plan is to do the same in other areas.Elfgore said:Now, just announce a Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning Remake and I may actually die.
Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure EA owns the Mercenaries IP so chances of that appending aren't great.Squilookle said:If this means it's coming to PC, and also means that other Pandemic console classics like Mercenaries will come to PC too, then this is indeed a good thing.
It need better balance that's what it need, I tried to pick it up again but with the DLC and I over level so much it felt meaningless. So I'd love a remaster that fix that problem.Adam Jensen said:Coincidentally, I started a new playthrough last week. Anyways, I don't think that Kingdoms of Amalur needs a remaster. I think that it needs a sequel.
Heh, same here. I played it once about five or more years ago already though. It is a really fun game but Jesus is it long. I think most playthroughs can hit about seventy to eighty hours. Hope you enjoy the rest of the game. I mostly just want the remaster to fix some of the rougher stuff that I find bothering. Like weird ass hands and the stupid emotes the NPCs do when conversing with you.Adam Jensen said:Coincidentally, I started a new playthrough last week. Bruh, don't put the idea of Mercenaries 2 playable and easy to obtain on modern PCs in my head, it's dangerous.Squilookle said:If this means it's coming to PC, and also means that other Pandemic console classics like Mercenaries will come to PC too, then this is indeed a good thing.
Basically no chance of that happening. I'm pretty sure EA owns the rights to kingdoms of Amalur and since the original was a money pit I don't think they've ever going to bother with another one.Elfgore said:Hmmmmmmmmmm, that's the good shit. I've been wanting this, easily one of my favorites from childhood. Now, just announce a Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning Remake and I may actually die.
Thanks, man. I am trying. It seems that faction missions are a lot more fun than the main story, at least so far. But this time I'm actually paying attention to what I'm doing and it is a lot more fun than I remember.Elfgore said:Hope you enjoy the rest of the game.
Those things I find quite charming, actually.Elfgore said:I mostly just want the remaster to fix some of the rougher stuff that I find bothering. Like weird ass hands and the stupid emotes the NPCs do when conversing with you.
THQ Nordic owns the IP, but EA owns the publishing rights. It's a weird situation.Dirty Hipsters said:I'm pretty sure EA owns the rights to kingdoms of Amalur
Yup, you're right. I knew EA owned the rights to it in some way, but I couldn't remember exactly what it was, it's the publishing rights, not the IP. Still, if they have the publishing rights I don't think they'll care to publish another one, or a remake considering the previous game lost quite a bit of money.Adam Jensen said:Thanks, man. I'd be surprised if THQ Nordic doesn't resurrect the IP soon. They seem very much interested in doing it with other IP's instead of just sitting on them.

Oh man, imagine what they could do if they made a Mercenaries 2.Elfgore said:Bruh, don't put the idea of Mercenaries 2 playable and easy to obtain on modern PCs in my head, it's dangerous.Squilookle said:If this means it's coming to PC, and also means that other Pandemic console classics like Mercenaries will come to PC too, then this is indeed a good thing.
