Deus Ex Final Boss Fight (spoilers)

After enjoying the game at good long length I'm at the final boss fight. The great reveal has been made, I have had chance to make Hugh Darrow see the error in his logic and gone down to the last boss fight chamber. Funny how all of the boss fights happen in a large chamber of one type or another. Anyway, I'm down there, and it's obvious things are going to go FUBAR any second. Enter you-know-who and that is exactly what happens.

The thing is: I don't think I got the right guns to finish this fight. I tried it a couple of times, and I keep running out of things that make a big enough 'bang' as the game throws wave after wave of enemies at me. It's dreadfully boring really. Frustrated, I checked out a YouTube video [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JpVy3LGEPJQ] on how one player did it, and quickly enough I realize my folly: yes, I should have picked that gun and stocked up on ammo. I should have hoarded those grenades!

The thing is...I'm getting really tired of these boss fights. On my first play-through I got up to the amazon chick, until I noticed I didn't have enough damage reduction to survive that fight. So, I rebooted and played with a heavier hacker-shooter combo staying away from anything that even smelled of stealth. However, now I'm getting to the point where I feel like, if I don't have the right selection of weapons getting through the final boss is unbearably difficult.

At this point I only know of a single location where I can get the gun that's needed to finish the game. And I can't backtrack to that point. I would have to restart the entire game. Help, please.

I didnt use guns during that bossfight,just threw 3 EMP grenades in total and i was finished. The other enemies either shut down or get knocked out by the electricity on the floor.

I gave up my stealth character a well because I couldn't beat Fredorova. I was on the hardest difficulty, so then I decided just to do easy and used an all out heavy weapons character. You can kill the women though, just hack the computers and shoot them to death.

Here's how I did it.

Go to a computer console. Do this either with good timing to avoid turrets or with cloak. Throw auto hack device on it. Pod opens. Lean out from cover when turrets are not facing. Kill lady creature in pod. Prepare for nutjobs. Kill nutjobs.

Rinse and repeat 2 more times.

Throw emps at the spider Tsao till she go bye bye.

I blew up the two turrets and just shot at Zhao through the glass with the laser rifle till she was dead - easiest boss fight in the game. I think when you have a gun that can shoot through walls in a game, you should remember that before putting only a wall between the player and the final boss.

I had similar troubles myself. I cheesed the entire boss fight using tips I found online. I had to reload till the part where you return to China, then I got the laser weapon and all the ammo I could find for it, then I lugged it around for the rest of the game, never using it once till the final boss fight, then I just used it and finished the fight in 7 seconds, since the laser can go through the glass shield of the final boss. The very second the fight started, I hit cloak and blasted her to death with the laser, and hey presto, done.

You don't need any kind of gun to finish the final fight - last playthrough I beat it with a stun gun and a tranq rifle as my only two weapons (pacifist run). Just follow these three simple steps:

Step 1: Run up to the central column. The turrets can't shoot straight down, so you'll be safe.
Step 2: On the side of the column facing Zhao is a security terminal. Hack it to override the core life support systems.
Step 3: Break the glass in front of Zhao with three Typhoon blasts.

Job done, and no shots fired.

EDIT - Just watched the video, and I gotta say that is by far and away the most arse-over-tit way of completing the final boss fight I've seen. Whoever that person is, do not take your gaming tips from them if they think that is the way to beat Deus Ex.

Just enter the codes at the 3 terminals and shoot with my plasma rifle at the at exposed bodies, after that do something with Zhao because I have no idea how I killed her. I just shot at the glass for a few seconds before realizing it did nothing then after a while it broke by itself as I looked around..

I played the entire game only on stealth and finished the boss fight's with ease, I always come prepared for every situation so it came in handy that I got the expansion of my backpack early on. How does that help you? It doesn't at all, beside learning that you need to be prepared for everything.

How can someone run out of ammo in the last bossfight? Oo

I did it with ease once i figured out you can just use the terminal opposit the chick behind the glass , after that it was a simple run around destroying the Bots while the Guards got electrified then blasted with immunity after the glass broke.

It probley helped i had about 6 Leathal weapons full of ammo (refusd to kill anyone in that level so saved a tone of bullets).

Pretty sure I used the stun gun on the occupants of the 3 pods, and whatever weapon I had on the shield protecting Mrs. Dragon Queen. That was on Give Me Deus Ex.

I died a thousand times before figuring out that I had a better chance attacking the pods directly rather than tried to hack the turret controls.

Wait, hang on, the only thing I did during the boss battle was hack a terminal and empty my laser rifle into Zhao. It was really stupidly easy. Oh well.

The random electric shocks after you deal with the tertiary girls in the pod break the glass in from of her. I then fired a shot or two with the silenced 10mm, my only lethal gun. Game done. Was incredibly easy, although I admit to using the grenade launcher on the turrets (hell, got to use it at least once after I went to the fuss of preordering) and it was only on normal difficulty.

Playing on the hardest difficulty as a completely stealth-centric character (+ no lethal weapons) I just cloaked and hacked the computers, using EMP mines to deal with the bots.

Oh, and the Dermal EMP shielding really makes this fight a formality.

As for all the other bosses, level 2 Typhoon destroys them even on the hardest difficulty, particularly since you can chain it with the energy boost bars. Just spam it as soon as they come in range and you win.

If you made Darrow see the error of his ways, it should be really easy. Run to the central tower, enter the code you received from persuading him and the whole thing shuts down. Then you make sure not to set off the robots or EMP them if you can, break the glass, job done.

I had so many praxis points stocked up that I couldn't help but spend some on combat. And I only needed one thing to kill the bosses: Typhoon.

They are laughably easy if you have this and even though I was kinda going for a no-kill run I still had lethals for the bots in case I got in a tight spot.

Remember the 7 P's people!

I found it very, very easy.

Shot a few magazines of my Assault Rifle and the fight was over.

I found her to be quite easy.

Step 1.) Using your high jump Aug, jump up and take cover behind the two small pillars.
Step 2.) Using a Plasma gun, destroy the three rotating turrets. (Do it quick so robots and electrified floor isn't a problem.)
Step 3.) Hack the console now that the coast is clear.
Step 4.) Wait until Zhao's shield burns itself out on it's own.
Step 5.) Shoot her.

Stuff you will need:

High Jump AUG
EMP Protection AUG (Just in case.)

Plasma Gun: Conspicuously placed outside Zhao's chamber.
Any gun that shoots straight, whatever takes your fancy.

One word: Typhoon!

Even if you're focusing on stealth or trying not to kill anyone its worth getting the Typhoon aug to make quick work of the bosses and mechs. Stop the guys in the pod anyway you want and then use typhoon to finish the actual boss.

Emp grenades/mines or the humble stun gun will make any boss in DX:HR a cakewalk.. it's not even funny.
