Don't get me wrong, this does kind of suck, but it's nothing new. How many time have you booted up a game and been greeted with the Nvidia/AMD logos. They have no place being there. They aren't like the publisher and devolopers credits. They're just adds placed there to make you consider changing graphics card companies.

It's more about what it represents. If we don't make a big fuss and be heard about this then more companies will think it's a viable option and so it goes on and on until we have characters sponsored by pepsi, texting their vector to others via Blackberry messenger and taking a break from their fighting to go check out the latest blockbuster at the cinema.

Oh great.
Now I am 100% sure to never buy this thing.

I hate already the fact they are going down the Mass Effect 2 way, selling main storyline as DLC instead of wrapping it up.

But, initial price (which is very premium), DLC to get the story together, then suddenly adds? No thank you.

Here on the Escapist subscribers do not see a single add. Do you wonder why? Would you find it acceptable to pay Escapist subscription and still see all the adds?

I didn't pay for the game to have ads in it. Fuck you Square Enix. I don't give a fuck about no-ads mod. There should be no ads. PERIOD! Now everyone will start doing it if we don't do something about it.

until they force you to read ads having something tiny in the bottom right of my screen while a mission is loading is no big deal IMO. Most of the time im off pissing or getting a drink anyway.

BTW - new Star Wars BluRay is mega-fail but ill still buy it like an asshole. I have the 90s THX VHS tapes where Lucas barely fucked with the movies and I love those versions.. for these BluRays to be truley awesome would to have at least 2 versions of the movies but 3 would be ideal with the first run, THX, and then this shit that lucas is doing now trying to make the last 3 shitty movies look better by ruining the first 3.

See that? That's the reason I crack all my games. Doesn't matter if I bought them, I get a crack and stick it on there.

To people saying it's no big deal - You're idiots. It might not be that big of a deal now, but if it gets accepted by the gaming community, it'll only get worse. Little by little, there'll be more of it and sooner or later you'll have commercial brakes in your games.

Also, I don't pay $50+ for my games so I could watch ads. Don't you find that a bit wrong? At least in principle? It's not like they are giving the game away for free and then making money through in-game ads (which I would be fine with). They're not even selling it for cheap. No, it's a full priced game, but they decided to just make a few extra bucks on it and screw the people who already bought it.

They will eventually. They start small, people say "what the hell, I don't care" and before you know it, real life ads are everywhere fucking with the product you bought! The point is, if you buy something you shouldn't have any fuckin' ads in it.

??? The game takes about 2 seconds to load for me. Then again I'm on the PC, so that might have something to do with it...
Yes well me and the sexy librarian and sexy Russian are on 360, so its long loading screens for us!
Meh. Fine with me. Gives me more time to multitask, like reading The Light Fantastic while playing or looking up teh pr0nzerz. XP

Can't believe I said "teh pr0nzerz", even in a somewhat joking manner.

I'm not really cool with this, I bought the game it didn't have ads. Now a few weeks after release they add ads and don't compensate me at all? I'm pretty sure I didn't elect to have ads added to my product after I bought it. Could you imagine going to play a mp3 you bought on Itunes only to realize that apple put in a couple second 'buy final fantasy twenty nine' before your music starts to play? Not cool Square Enix not cool.

I think it's kinda prickish regardless, but far much more so since the game wasn't launched with them. Adding them later after people bought it makes it worse.

At least on my PC loading takes a few seconds at most.

I'm suprised how many are okey with this.

I don't know about you, but I paid 60$ or so for this game, and I wouldn't even touch it with a two-by-four if it had ads in it, not for that price.

PC gamers can at least mod their game to remove them, but it's only a matter of time we'll see this on consoles. Mark my words.

So, in the meantime, I think I'll vote with my wallet.

That... that's it? That tiny little banner down in the corner there? That's the issue here? That's fucking nothing. It's tiny, and honestly? It's a fucking loading screen. What the hell else are you doing in the game during that time?

Total non-issue.

Squeenix (or Eidos, whoever is responsible for this), we don't pay you money for advertisements.
We already paid for the game. Stop hiking the virtual price to us, by annoying us with these stupid ads we don't care about.

And seeing how there weren't any ads BEFORE, you can't claim that this "helps pay for the game", because there is no additional cost to you (no multiplayer servers, etc). This is just a dick move that doesn't have any direct benefit for the customer.

While not functionally impeding, it's still tasteless and annoying.

But you can see it from here...
*ahem* yeah.
OT: It's a dick move, luckily my xbox is never connected so no ads for me!.
Or multiplayer but shut up.
