Seriously , how do you get more ammo in this game ( cpt obvious : buy it or loot it ) but its never enough for an entire battle . This has gotten frustrating tbh , half the time I am with no ammo , waiting for the right moment to mele them . I'm playing on normal but I might have died 120321389 gazillion times by now . Seriously , I have no idea how to finish this game as atm I have just the two saved games both which have me surrounded by 10 npc with automatic weapons while I have 0 ammo and 0 energy . How people finished this in the first day is beyond me ...this coming from a dude that finished Me,Me2 , DAO all on max difficulty .

I wouldn't classify the game hard as more annoying with the amount of times I ran into "crossbow ammo" or "revolver ammo" when there wasn't one in probably 10 kilometers . Also the buggy quest at the start of the game is quite the annoyance in its own . Am I alone in this? Do I really need to start over at easy so I wont go out of ammo in 1 battle?

Also the shooting ain't what it should be . I missed like 2 sniper shots because they hit some kind of invisible walls between textures.

I go stealthy stealthy so ammo isn't a concern for me. Personally, if you are going in all guns blazing, all the time, you are missing out on a great experience.

My problem has largely been having TOO MUCH ammunition. At a particular point, even when I decided to eschew stealth because I grew bored with the approach, I had a few dozen rounds for the revolver, more than 100 for my handgun, 300 for the god awful heavy rifle, 150 for a combat rifle and 60 or so for a shotgun. And this was after engaging in a rolling gun battle in Shanghai and Montreal. And more than once I'd sell weapons and hundreds of rounds of ammunition just because I wanted more room in my inventory to...collect more weapons and ammunition I guess?

Pistol ammo is plentiful if you loot bodies. Other weapons...not so much. Especially automatic weapons where you go through bullets really quick.

Sooooo if I haven't picked up stealth aug's that much because I thought the game could be approached more ways than one I'm screwed....? Meh..wanted to try something different this time , but it seem this is another one of those "choice " games . Guess I'll have to replay once my nerves allow me.

Fun fact: because of a accidental missclick in the police station mission I ended up killing the entire police station + all the police officers outside and even killed the guy I convinced to let me in so I guess I'm gonna get the bad ending anyway ^^ ( there are more endings right?)

1. Be sneaky

2. Headhsots

3. Try using a combination of combat styles. You get more XP for doing takedowns than you do for shooting anwway.

4. Use the combat rifle. I'm swimming in ammo for that thing due to all the soldiers using it. Then again I tend to use stealth, so it might be different if I was shooting everyone.

Huh. During my initial playthrough (on "Give Me Deus Ex" difficulty), I frequently had to drop all the spare ammo I had to make room for other things I wanted to pick up.

But then again, that may just be because I prioritized my targets, aimed for the head, used nonlethals/takedowns when I could, and used stealth to get myself into the best position.

To be honest, stop being bad at the game. Try actually aiming for the head when you shoot, stop spraying and wasting bullets. I played it on normal and I had too much ammo to carry. And I never stealthed through a mission once, beat every obstacle head-on.
Probably , but most likely from the fact that I aim the head and actually hit some invisible texture that is blocking which in turn alarms the building . No trying to excuse myself here ,maybe I'm bad at this game , but it feels like sometimes I ain't even given a fighting chance .

I'm on medium difficulty, with a silenced, laser sighted, damage upgraded, reload speed improved pistol, a machine pistol, and an assault rifle and have plenty of ammo for all. Just loot bodys and container, there is plenty when you look for it :)

I'm playing it as stealthy as possible, only bringing out the guns when necessary, so ammo is never really a concern for me. Even when I do get out the guns I aim carefully and hit them in the head, so I don't burn through too much ammunition.

Really? I had more then enough ammo. And I went through my first time gunning people down, left and right. And right now I'm going on hard all stealth. Did you try buying ammo at stores?

And you're wondering where all your ammo went? :p

I found I had way too much ammo to be honest. I decided to play guns blazing on my first playthrough as well and, being the pack rat that I am, I looted everything and explored every nook and cranny. I carry 6 weapons with me though, I find that the ammunition in each gun alone is enough to get me through a battle. If you only choose one or two weapons then I can see you having a problem I guess.

Really? How on earth did you manage that?

I'm playing on the hardest difficulty and I'm swimming in ammunition like a cybernetic Scrooge McDuck.

Headshots, stealth, and the ability to improvise.

For me, I upgraded my abilties for more utilitarian purposes, but I mostly play a stealth game. It's only been lately, with upgraded weapons, that I have been able to do what I really wanted: a shock trooper. Basically, my strategy is to use landmines (EMP, concussion, etc.) to incapacitate my opponents before taking them out quickly with my silenced combat rifle/machine pistol/pistol (armor piercing for the win!). This allows me to take out my targets before I get into a prolonged firefight. Also, I sneak out of combat and reposition if the fight goes on for more than five seconds, or they get too close.

The trick is to use stealth to gain the upper hand. Then simply raid w/e from the corpses. However, if you focus a lot on stealth for a while, you will soon be stocked full of ammo.

Another hint: sneak around and hack the robots and turrets. It's always nice to have some bots on your side :)
