I've only done 2 missions without killing so far.

Maybe I will complete it with no kills, but right now I have great love for my guns.

I've done the missions without killing so far, took forever to do the police station before I found an alternate entrance.

Unfortunately, I think someone got killed by friendly fire in one level. Hope that doesn't count against me. :/

If video games are the source of all the evil and killing in this world how come one of this year's biggest releases inspire no-kill playthroughs, huh?! Asnwer that one, Dad!

OT: I haven't had the chance to play this game yet, but i'm going to try doing a pacifist run, but i suppose if i mess up the stealth and stand between dying and losing progress or killing a dude then i'd probably give it up. Depends on how much significant progress i'd lose though.

They do their best to make you regret it near the end though.
How did you complete it the first time, and have all the different endings done within 7 minutes of each other?
I don't spoil any of the endings or any plot-line, but the spoiler explains how you can get all the endings quickly. Otherwise you'll understand pretty quickly once you get there yourself.

You pick an ending by just pressing a button for the ending you want. You can save in the room with the button so you can watch all endings in a few minutes.

PS.

Watch the credits till the end at least once.

Just rescued the hostages from the plant without killing anyone. I intend to play the entire game without killing anyone--save the bosses. I will get that trophy.

Now, on the hard setting, I'm still going to attempt to avoid killing, but I will have no problem dropping people if it gets heated. What I'm worried about is getting all the different endings--betting I won't be able to get some because they'll require me to do things I don't want to do--and completing the entire game without setting off any alarms. It's MGS4 all over again. Sigh...

I'm going for a minimal-kill run. I even managed to get through the prologue level (the part before Adam gets augmented) without killing.

But when I eventually came across some guys in the first China level doing something utterly evil, the lethal weapons came out.

Oh, and that one part with Malick... yeah, no survivors. Even the already-unconscious ones got a bullet.

Nah. I'm about 2/3 non-lethal, 1/3 lethal. I have 1000+ Machine Pistol rounds! YAY ME!

The extra EXP and what-not is too hard to resist.

I've pretty much completed China now and I still haven't killed anyone.

Or so I thought. I didn't think the tutorial level would count so I pretty much went on a rampage and killed everyone there. Does the tutorial level count? It'd suck if I had to go through another non-lethal playthrough so soon. The guns looks so cool, and I really want to try them all out. It kinda sucks that you only have a lethal weapon at the start.

Managed the intro mission and then got to the factory one and reprogrammed a turret.

Turret took out 4 people before I realised i'd set it to enemies instead of inactive.

Also: There is nothing quite like having to bribe scum for info, then killing them and taking your money back!!
XD that was so awesome when I paid that guard all my money and then realized I could just knock him out and take it back.

I have started the game over again trying not to kill anyone. I made it past the first boss but stopped playing because I got bored.

I was able to sneak past everyone in the tutorial, so I think you have to.

This is why my first play-through was as a violent super-soldier who could kill you so much as look at you. I missed out on some stuff (a lot actually) but it made my second, current attempt at stealth much more agreeable.

Technically if you're going for the achievement I think you're still good. The thing says "by your hand". So the turret is kind of a indirect means of slaying.

I'm going through trying to be a ghost though.

Finished the game without kills or alerts on the hardest setting, first playthrough. It was grand.

Also, turns out that the stun gun instakills Yelena, if she gives you trouble. It may work on the other two commandos, but I'm not sure.
No, it does not instant-kill, i used the stun gun on all bosses, but that boss does get affected the most by it. The stungun just does what it says, it stuns them for a bit, the third boss barely is affected by it though, giving you little time to switch guns after you stun him.

What weapons do you guys use. I'm going through my second playthrough going pacifist on the hardest setting, while also getting Doctorate using the same as my first playthrough, Tranq gun, Stungun, and an extremely upgraded pistol. I already failed "Foxiest of the hounds" because of a turret i couldnt move to get an E-book.

Does anyone know if Destroying Robot's with your EMP grenade or crazy people running into NPC mines count as a kill?

Funny how easy this boss is, mainly because of all the augmentations you have by then. Just need a few EMP grenades, Master Hacking, and electricity invulnrability and you're set.

Ahhh right.

I'll go through the rest and try not to kill anyone and see if it works out.

If not i'm blaming the turret entirely.

I never tried it in the first place. The people you fight are scum who deserve no mercy.
It would be downright irresponsible NOT to kill these drugdealers and gangbangers. Am I supposed to just knock them out and let them wake up to do more harm in the world? Fuck that, they're all going to die!

Also, the lethal takedowns are much cooler than the non-lethal ones. Fuck you Eidos for not making them silent!

I only needed 100 rounds of Plasma Rifle ammo and an Automatic Unlocking Device to beat the whole thing. No augs necessary.

Anywho, I really want to know if robot/turret kills count. If not...a no kill walkthrough would suck. Oh. And if the enemies in the final mission count. I imagine that they do, but...

After the disaster that was my first encounter with the game ( Protip: If you don't chose stealth aug , you are dead on max difficulty . No , I don't care if you are Jesus , without stealth you're done) .

Now that I started again I finished everything twice as fast and I'm atm 1 quest hub and half in ( the china town ) with no kills . Also I now get what people were saying with extra ammunition . What I'm trying to say is ...if you want the achievement invest in Max stealth , then in max battery regen then I would go for force or reflexes . Screw hacking till you get those .

...? Deus Ex difficulty isn't hard at all. o_O I just beat a 'Give Me Deus Ex' difficulty playthrough where I only used lethal takedowns, 10mm pistol, and EMP grenades. No augments at all. Also, I killed EVERYONE I saw. That includes everyone in the police station. Just to see if it was possible.

Protip: Get the armor piercing and laser sight mods for the 10mm. Then aim for their heads.
