For the love of GOD don't play it on a home console, it's watered down. The location health system is replaced with a health bar, among other terrible, terrible things.Fragamoo said:Had it on a console; was too young back then to really give it a go.
Its one of those games that I always wanted to get into, but it kept slipping to the back of my mind.
Mainly because it was garbage. I have a friend who played 2 first, but will never play the original. I slap him every time I see him and bring that up.zyoto12 said:To any one who hasen't played it yet, I recommend playing the sequel first (deus Ex Invisible War. It's a good game, but nowhere near as good as the original. If you play the original you will absolutly hate the second.
You've probably just lost a lot of credibility from older gamers who played during the "Golden Age" of gaming. Well done.pantsoffdanceoff said:I tried it, and you're right, the first level was shit. It's still shit even if you take out all the game breaking bugs. But because you gave that nice walkthrough I'll try it again.
Yeah I never tried it because I assumed you couldn't but then I accidentally misplaced a LAM and BOOOMTsunamiWombat said:Deus Ex officially blew my mind when I realized you couldKill Anna Navarre instead of letting her kill the prisoner and the game GOES WITH IT
I heard that they did away with universal ammo for DX3 and thought "wow was that actually in Invisible War? Good for them" Then they go ahead and add regenerating health and a cover system. But I really lost it when I readChromeAlchemist said:I sure as hell don't have high hopes for 3, either. The only good thing I've heard from it so far are the facial animations giving away when people are lying or not, other than that, it sounds terrible. Not to mention they bashed the first game, the fucking game that started it all.
You still get skill points but you spend them on upgrading guns and augs. "Skill" indeed. Let's not talk about DX3 for now.In DX3, stats have been removed from the act of shooting and instead relies on your ability to target with your mouse and keyboard.
I have a hard time believing that your computer can't install Steam. What happens when you try to install and run it? PM me and I can try and help you out.tellmeimaninja said:Never played it, Can't get steam (my computer is too pathetic to run just about anything), and I can't find it anywhere...greeeeat.
... You *****, now I really want to watch that video again but I can't remember which review it was. Also, for all it's flaws swimming is a godsend in the later game. Paris, Hong Kong (Not that late, I know, but still) and the minisub base are much better played with high swim.HT_Black said:I don't care if it was the ugliest game I've seen in a decade, I still think it was great. I just reinstalled it. Now I've got to go and waste the obligatory ten hours of my life...thanks for that.
(Sung to Deus Ex main tune):
Puuut on a trench coat,
and fiiight some conspiracies,
get experience, and level up abilities,
will you pick riiifles ooor computers,
don't pick swimming because it's fairly useless...
Who the hell hasn't heard of it??Ahhpple said:No it is not. Yes I am singing of its glory but it is just an informative first post for people who have never heard of it.tomfrumtarn said:Isnt this some sort of review?
Lots of people, mostly console gamers. People born after the early 90s. The current generation of gamers who have been growing up on the 360 and Wii. There are even some PC gamers I've talked to that have only heard the name of the game once and then forgot about it.AC10 said:Who the hell hasn't heard of it??
