oh look, more bitching about D3, and now its the adds.

how petty of you.

if you don't like it don't buy it, and write Blizzard telling them WHY your not buying,(simply not buying it isn't enough anymore) other wise, get over it
It's META unproductive resentment guy!

Always good to see you :)

(Also, what century are you living in where people still write letters?)

And as to why people get mad about the story & violence being toned down... well, just a guess, but I imagine it's because people liked the story & violence as they were in the original games. And it's probably doubly surreal for them because they played & enjoyed the originals *while they were teenagers*, and now as adults they find the game more watered down and PG-13 than ever before.

No, you are wrong at how tame it is. Look at the dark and edgy logo.

The general art within the game is also incredible.

Okay in seriousness, I am not going to complain about how the colour set doesn't look so washed out and generally more colourful means brighter right? To be honest, D2 had some very bright areas. Act 2 is very dull but uses lighter colours. Act 3? It's not only really dark but it feels so dull and washed out I always find someone to skip it for me in multiplayer. Act 4 is pretty much all grey. Find the greyest AAA title that came out since CoD 4, and make it slightly darker, and you have Diablo 2's act 4.

D3 is much more colourful. Sure it means everything pops out more, someone new to diablo could look at D2 and just consider it ugly. Diablo 3 may be considered on the other end of the spectrum, but it is designed to attract people who are into that sort of style, the WoW, torchlight 1 (and possibly starcraft 2) players.

It's more than just a color scheme problem.

D1's conclusion? Naked women being crucified for the big bad's amusement while he waits in a pentagram of blood. You fight tooth and nail to beat him- then promptly perform a self administered trephination with Diablo's soulstone. The End. DUN DUN DUNNN.

D3's conclusion: all evil is vanquished, and everyone is happy everywhere. Oh, except the stand in for Regan MacNeil that nobody cared about.

beg your pardon, i though people of this time knew about this strange thing called 'email' i believe that's still used these days.

:p I'd offer more constructive feed back then 'if you don't like it, shut up and do something about it' if we weren't closing in on ME3 levels of 'bitching about nothing'. at this point, ether fire of a letter (read: email, shut up, we wrote letters when i was a kid) to blizzard about why your not buying/playing it or get over it. cause 'not buying' is working about as well as DRM works to stop piracy.

Dear god, can these threads disappear already? This is the Bioware/EA bullshit again. Yes, Diablo 3 had a tremendous amount of hype, and when it came out, they had launch problems. What game in the last 10 years hasnt? If you can name more than 20, you probably have too much time on your hands. Seriously, i respect other peoples opinions, but now its just getting pants on head retarded. If you don't like Diablo 3, great, i'm happy for you. But bashing a game for business decisions and drm is like saying the president is black. We all knew about the features before it was released. If you didn't do your homework, then it well and truly is your own fault. DRM was announced MONTHS before the game came out. Real money AH? Again, MONTHS. All the things people keep complaining about are stale, stupid, and shallow. I personally like the game, hate the tacked on nonsense. Will it stop me from playing? IF the servers go down, yes, if not, NO! Stop with the sense of entitlement. Blizzard made the game, Not you. Blizzard published the game, Not you. Were you on the Dev team? No. If you were, then you should have spoken up and made it known how bad of a decision this was. So sit down, and either play it or don't. All of this stuff is just getting stupid. Put the bat down, the horse is DEAD!!!!!!

Not only is it lacking any sort of realistic gore (WOOHOO EXPLOSIONS OF BLOOD SO DARK), but Blizzard went PC with the subject material too. There is a considerable lack of pentagrams in the game, and not only that, there's a sign that's frustratingly reminiscent of a pentagram that gets plastered all over some places.

I don't know what the fuck they were thinking with that one. Seriously, you can't put a pentagram in there in fear of offending some easily offendable asshole, and instead throw in about 10 things that look like they started off as a pentagram, but then parts of them got jumbled together? Really? Was that like a joke or something? Weaksauce. Just pure weaksauce.
Especially considering in Classic Diablo, you reach Diablo's lair by...clicking on the center of a giant, screen-filling, glowing pentagram.

You know, threadhopping a mere 24 posts is bad enough. Not even reading the title of the thread...there's surely a special place in hell for that.

Or you could just say it's fun. In that case the advertising promises would actually hold true.

/thread, if I say so myself.
Yeah, that's a winning ad campaign. :p

"Buy our game! It's fun!"

Would work about as well as:

"Watch our movie! It's good!"

Ya know what?

I don't care, this is stupid. I had some thoughts about this and now I don't even care.

The game is fun, and the ad was showing how fun it is, that's marketing. Get mad at the marketing team for this and not the game.

Glad I could be of some use.

Seriously though, what's so different about Diablo doing this when other games do it too?

Nothing, it's equally bad when any game dev does it. So I complain at all of them in equal volume. :)

If other games jumped off a bridge would you do it, too?

Instead of blowing all the preorder money on coke and strippers, or heaven forbid server support they could have had a live action Diablo game in Central Park with all that money. That's some fucking Goddamned advertising!

Truth be told...

We (I, and my 2 bestest fwiends) didnt realise there was any required tactics to any of the boss fights until we hit hell mode.

apart from Belial.

Damn, if they had made some more fighrs like Belial, the game would be epic.

Has it ever stopped pirates?

OP: If you don't like it, then deal with it. I don't like BF3 so I don't play it, and I don't like FF13, so I don't play it either.
I'm not going to make threads about how incredibly bad they are and how the people that play them are sheeple that buy it just because it has "that game that you really enjoyed in the past" in the title. I guess I'll leave that kind of ranting and raging to you.

Quoi?

None of what you just said makes sense in regards to the ad. It's the marketing team that did the ad, so the anger about the servers is after the fact of the ad itself.

Since you hate D3 so much, I'm assuming, I see no point in discussing this further with you. Good day.
