Probably not, wouldn't surprise me if this was just a way of hyping up the expansion pack and getting some goodwill back from the community at the same time.Ruzinus said:What's interesting is that the Gold Auction House is gone too.
Ah well, RIP RMAH. I made $60 from you, which is more then I get from most questionable game systems...
oh wait, it's not happening for 6 months?
It's not happening for 6 months.
Do they really think this is going to give the game the success that D2 had?
One of the major issues was that the loot system was designed to give higher amounts of inferior gear then previous diablo games. They designed it that way so that more people would use the auction house, thus letting blizzard make more money from sales. Whether you used it or not it effected your gameMysticToast said:This would be a good time for someone to explain to me why the AH was so hated. I know D3 had plenty of issues, but regarding the AH, it seemed like a good ol "don't like it, don't use it" deal
I think the base drop-rates were created assuming the use of the AH, which is why my level 60(p4) Barbarian has found *1* legendary item, ever. And a poor one at that.MysticToast said:This would be a good time for someone to explain to me why the AH was so hated. I agree and commiserate. Diablo 2 was special. The Madman said:Good, now all they need to do is rewrite the story into something half-way coherent and make the levels less linear by design, allow multiple difficulties right from the start, more character customization so every wizard/monk/whatever isn't the exact same as every other, and Diablo 3 might not have been a terrible game.
Diablo 3 still stings as one of the biggest disappointments for me in quite a long time.
And how long ago did you play? because as is right now Legendaries are only slightly rarer than Rares (in the 40 hours on my Demon Hunter, I've found around 16 or so Legendaries[footnote] and been given 3 more out of the blue by somebody who basically went "My stash is getting full, take these, I don't care if you actually have any use for them or not."[/footnote], and that's with almost no Magic Find beyond what Paragon gives me), and Loot 2.0 isn't even out yet.Levethian said:I think the base drop-rates were created assuming the use of the AH, which is why my level 60(p4) Barbarian has found *1* legendary item, ever. Ah, see I didn't know that. Every time I saw people complaining about the RMAH, I never once saw a real, grounded reason like the one you stated.Windcaler said:One of the major issues was that the loot system was designed to give higher amounts of inferior gear then previous diablo games. But will those sites affect the drop rate and induce lag when I play singleplayer?Aeshi said:How long do you think it's gonna take people to just start creating 3rd party sites to sell items for Real Money on instead, thus rendering this entirely useless?
My money's on "About a Week"
About 2-3 months ago, for about 3-dozen hours. Thundergod's Vigor. That was my 1.Aeshi said:And how long ago did you play? because as is right now Legendaries are only slightly rarer than Rares (in the 40 hours on my Demon Hunter, I've found around 16 or so Legendaries, and that's with almost no Magic Find beyond what Paragon gives me), and Loot 2.0 isn't even out yet.Levethian said:I think the base drop-rates were created assuming the use of the AH, which is why my level 60(p4) Barbarian has found *1* legendary item, ever.
