"You're a silly muffin to think that you are going to get everything you want for free in a beta test that isn't paid for."

Lol, fanboy irrationality and baseless accusations. I don't particularly care about this situation, as I wasn't in the alpha and will test whatever map they bring out.

I was simply mocking this forum mod for accusing gamers of an entitlement complex, when HE, the DEVELOPER (using the term loosely), needs the gamers to BUY HIS PRODUCT. Of their own free will. By posting an indignant and immature response to customer dissatisfaction he has displayed his own (and possibly DICE's/EA's) entitled mindset.

If customers aren't supposed to demand anything of suppliers, why is one of the basic economic forces called "DEMAND"?
Okay firstly, you need to use the quote box or I won't get the message that you are talking to me.

Secondly, Fanboy? I've never played a single one of their games and I have no real plans to do so in the future.

Finally, in case you missed it, he was calling out those who believe to be entitled to having the maps they want, not all the gamers, hence what I believed you to be doing since you then went off on the developer. Beyond that, do you honestly think that droves of customers will now not buy this game simply because some forum moderator called them out for being entitled little brats? I don't find that to be terribly likely after so many failed boycotts have shown.

Oh, and it is DEMAND, because they want it. Meet the demand of whatever they want with a supply of what they want, it has nothing to do with service.

Returning to the original argument of you being a silly muffin.

Oh, why can't some 'fans' grow up? Some people aren't getting the beta. You've got a choice between the beta with an unexpected map, or no beta at all. And to quote Jakub324, "Yeah, fuck you, angry fanboys."

As for the specific complaint, it seems valid; the big selling point of this game is that it supports 64 players. Having the only map in the beta be one that doesn't support that many players is a bit of a dick move on Dice's part -- or, more to the point, I'd say it's a PR mistake. Why on earth would you allow access to an early version of a game if you weren't going to show off its main selling point?
My thoughts exactly.
A 64 player map would have been the perfect way of showing that BF was going back to its focus on large-scale online battles, standing out from the mass of 24- or 32 player FPSes we've seen over the past few years.

*****, did you ever hear the phrase "the customer is always right"? You get paid for all your work with my money, so if I wanna give negative feedback about the chosen map and THUS help you realize what maps I prefer to play and what you should be focusing on in future DLCs, I'll do that.

I am so curious if he got away with it or if DICE will be making a "we're sorry" thread. Insulting the very own costumers who not only are interested in buying your shit, but are also willing to play certain parts of your shit and offer feedback to that shit, that's just not right.
Oh look, it's a person who has never worked a job serving customers.

*facepalm*
I did work in a costumer service position once, interacting directly with customers who wanted to cancel their contracts, and I do work in the gaming industry now, and no matter how much I hated my work, I never insulted a customer. In the worst case scenario I just stopped giving a damn and let him cancel the services.

Apparently all you fellas seem to forget that, no matter if your customer wants to make a shitty decision or if he whines or if he complaints, you don't openly insult him, like the guy did in that post.

So yeah, if you like being insulted by the people who's jobs you pay, good for you. Unfortunately, I work for my money and thus don't like to feel partially satisfied when I pay full price for a service, in this case, a game. And a Beta is pretty much a way of advertising your game to possible clients or actual clients who bought X product and received a beta key. And you don't win them over by telling them to "stop whining and grow up".

The customer is not always right. This isn't shocking, or an attack on fans, this is just a moderator with a spine. Good on him.

To quote the source link

"Things hit the fans recently on the BattleField 3 EA UK forums.

It seems that certain members of the community forum weren?t too happy when it was announced that Operation Metro was going to be the provided map during the beta testing period of the game. This announcement came AFTER DICE had previously claimed otherwise, that the Operation Metro wasn?t going to be used for beta. Apparently some fans had their hearts set on a different map to play during the beta ( one that would allow up to 64 players ) and became somewhat upset by the news.

When the complaints became loud a forum moderator shared his opinion on the matter:"
The moderators response in this link here:

And here is the original source link: http://thesilentchief.com/2011/09/22/dice-lashes-out-angry-battlefield-3-fans/

Now here is the source link... with the pic, now i don't know how to add pics....(yes i'm not super computer savy.

and my opinion the matter is wtf a beta is a privilege who knew this was a "demo," oh wait....

But what the zuh -who cares right... right?
might think it is because in the Battlefield 3 Alpha Operation Metro was the map :p would have been alittle cooler to actually test out vehicle maps... but oh well.. aslong i can play it again the alpha was AMAZING!

check out the gameplay video i made if you are wondering -

At what point did I say it was ok to insult your customers? You can be respectful to customers and still have them be wrong.

'The customer is always right' is an utterly stupid phrase for anybody to use. It doesn't have anything to do with how you treat your customers, unless you follow it, in which case you're just giving in and allowing yourself to be pushed around by someone most probably trying to exploit you.

Well in all honesty i don't care either, but it was interesting that he flat out insulted the fans to quote "grow up", i wouldn't have done that, I'd say that was a bad pr move. But i am looking forward to the beta :D, and i think to certain extent I'd say I'm overall, neutral on this topic, but i will say that the guy should have handled it better, that's all.

Seriously, I dunno who is worse, the mod who posted that thing or the people that agree with him.

I don't feel bad for either side, since I actually know how to be neutral.
