Eh. It's a little dickish only because it's such an easy move. Screwing with super right-wing christian kids with metal is like screwing with frat boys by being super gay and hitting on them. It's funny, but a little harsh for such an easy target.

The fact of the matter is that the students did not act destructively, but rather with concern. They attempted to connect with another human being and share something they felt was beautiful. If that really ruffled your Yellowcard enjoying friend that much, then perhaps the wrong issue was getting resolved, as history teaches us that the only insults with any weight are those that might actually be true. If anyone really wants to get back at the excessively religious, the best way to do so is to act as though one normally would...which is to say in a manner which makes clear that their religion is not worth anyone's time.

The fact you just drove around playing metal in a Catholic (I'm assuming) boarding school is just lulzy, and seriously, they should be able to take the joke.
I don't see a problem with pulling a prank/dick move like that because you weren't actually trying to criticize them or get them to stop believing in their faith. What you did is nothing compared to J.W.
