I'm a pretty intelligent American but I don't know if I fully count since everyone else in my family is British and I'm the 1st American born.
Whatever you do, do not at any point return to the motherland, things have pretty much gone downhill.
Meh, I have plans of going to either Canada or New Zealand with friends if/when America goes to shit

Facepalm is right. There is nothing about that worthy of banning. It's not the dictionary's fault.

Sigh, of course its Southern California, and of course its some over-protective parent. I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Parents should not be allowed to have kids! They don't know what they're doing!
Genious. Love this. Hahahaha.

For me it's when people start to realise your argument holds water and the only reason they even hold theirs is because they were told it when they were young and defend it using that very fact as an argument.

Wow...
How bout people teaching common sense insted of trying to force everyone else to do it. -.-
Kids are kids, they'll look at Playboys, porn, etc.
The only thing you can do is talk to them, and help them understand. If you don't want them knowing, teach them not to. Actualy be a parent, even though that's like saying for someone afraid of heights to skydive off Empire State building for most people -.-. May work, may not. They'll still be curious. Even though curiosity is a double edge blade, it's the parents job to dull ususaly the nasty end of it. The other end is what helps create, inspire, and all that. Wouldn't know if fire burns our hands if some random person didn't get curious and not stick there hand in a fire or what not.

Really? This stupid as the old saying goes give a child a dictionary and he will look up rude words. Seriously if anyone of these parents that got it banned never did this when they where kids they are liars

These people seriously need a hobby. For all the free time they've got to complain about this shit they could've taken a part-time degree and edumacated their sorry arses.

What is it with stupid shit and parents today?
Do you have to give the common sense part of your brain to your kid when he's born?

I heard this happen...

A while ago. Maybe a year.

But censoring a part of life isn't for protection, it's for stupidity.

Dear Southern California,

You fail at education forever. Hang your head in shame.

Sincerely,

OT: Honestly, I would not have expected that of California. Although I suppose they're really only liberal in the cities...doesn't seem to stop the conservative minority from being just as batshit as they are in the Bible Belt.

Things that make me facepalm...oh yes. In my college Spanish class today, we were assigned to listen to a song and translate it. The teacher skipped through the entire middle of the song. According to her this was due to "inappropriate lyrics". I had heard the song before--the singer says "marijuana", once. In a song about love and travel.

Keep in mind that at seventeen I was the youngest person in the classroom. Everyone at my table gave a truly spectacular implied facepalm.
