I was definetly spooked out of my chair :S I could only play for 5 minutes. Maybe it was just scary in the beginning? :p I'm very susceptible to fear and on top of that I'm a pussy :p Horror stuff just isn't my thing
I think me and you need to hang out (and play horror games, watch horror movies) together. I really need to watch more horror movies and play more games, I like you when it comes to games I am 100% pussy, I get scared by games pretty easy, it's really weird because stuff doesn't really scare me in real life, no idea why it happens.
Oh yeah definetly :p We'll still have to have the lights on and everything but it's a step forward! Oh and do NOT play Condemned. Damn that game scared the shit out of me :S Such solid atmosphere, crazy stuff
Maybe, eventually, after a few years we could perhaps move on to only three or four lamps on and play a scary game, instead of, ya know, the whole house lit up. I'll have to remember that, weird thing is, I kinda like the adrenaline that comes with being scared, but I can't seem to do it with games.

The ladder scene made me jump. Simply because I wasn't expecting it. Other than that no, not really.

Not at all - I actually found the horror very badly executed in everything I've seen from the fear series.

I thought the original F.E.A.R was quite creepy and disturbing, and there were some genuine scares in there caused less by something jumping out and more by the feeling of unnease you get from wondering what horrible thing you're going to witness next.
Pretty much how I would have described it, it wouldn't make me loose sleep at night to put it another way. The light play was pretty cool in it, like walking up one of the last closed doors seeing Alma's shadow slowly walking past the glass in the upper part of a closed door.

Then hearing one of the lead scientists talking to her followed by his agonized screams coming from the room, door opens all smoky and the rooms splashed with blood. That did make me go brrrr.

Using a little girl as the horror figure worked really well. I think I would have been less o_O of something that was all big spiky and made loads of screaming noises. Alma just a silent nightmare. But once again not terrifying, just creepy.

Hahaha yeah true that :D Hopefully we'll one day be able to finish an entire horror game in pitch darkness. Now THAT would be the day!

Ghah, the adrenaline is probably to much for me. Or perhaps a different kind then the average FPS adrenaline? Because when I get scared in a horror game I immediatly launch out of my chair and quickly spam the ESCape button to stop the horror from traumatizing me for life :p But aye, I'll have to finish a whole game someday.
Whoa, hold on there, that sounds like a little bit of a big pipe dream.

I think it's a different kind of adrenaline, like an "Oh shit, how the f*ck am I going to survive this", happened when I played S.T.A.L.K.E.R, I was being chased by something, I only saw it for like 2 seconds, realised it scared the shit out of me and turned tail and ran, after I found it really fun, but I got off right after and didn't play for another couple of days, still never finished that.

FEAR did have its spooky moments. Personally i think the creepiest stuff came from Paxton Fettel, with his Hannibal Lecter fetish and cryptic dialogue. moments that made me jump yes. Scary...ehh somewhat. I'd say FEAR made me more nervous than scared.

Now Doom 3 that spooky. I don't care if you think i'm a pussy. 1AM, cold basement, no lights, noise canceling headphones, imp just spawning in behind me= squealing like a little girl.

Silent Hill 2,3,4, and Shattered Memories was scary. F.E.A.R was pretentious.

It did startle me at times.
I must say sir... you have a LOT of digits after your name.
that'll be like what? the 5th forum who said that to me?

I made the name when I was 10 years old and it was the only one I'd ACTUALLY remember. so if you see a guy on another forum named "Megaman24681012," yah that's me.
