Did Call of duty get less creative ? (Timeline of Cod1 to Cod 4 MW)

I remember playing all of the call of duty games...but there was something that made me think and install the rest of the games to find out.
THE NAMES ARE ALL THE SAME !?
That's right.Captain price lived through World war 2 then another world war 2 and now after about 60ish years he's still alive.I was thinking he would look more like this now.

Also i noticed the guy, Miller.He's remembered from cod2.I mean come on.They recycled lots of names and even some voices.Can't they get original.

P.S i know this is old, but it just kept bumping in my head for the past 2 years.

And Captain Price in MW is supposed to be the other one's relative. Not the same person.

Also i think if ANYTHING they have gotten out of a "slum" of creating WWII games and going twords something slightly new.

either way,
CoD4 is win.
and MW2 is GOING to be win.

Well Final Fantasy has a Cid, Chocobo, Airship, and a number of spell names recycled for years. Do it enough and people get excited when they finally find Cid. Hell, the primere of the FF14 trailer got the biggest cheering from the appearance of a chocobo.

It hasn't caught on with CoD I guess, but I don't see anything wrong with using the same name. As for the same voicing, well why should they audition new talent when the old works just fine?

I like it how they put Price in all the games. He was my favorite commander in CoD 1 and he was a freaking badass in CoD4.
I remember him dying in CoD 1 too. But he returns in CoD 2 as a commander. I think they're just having fun with the characters.
I think Soap is a commander in Modern Warfare 2.

I think that it's just for nostalgia purposes. Infinity Ward want you to remember how much fun you had the first time you played Call of Duty.

I thought the idea was that Price was just a staple of the IW games, so you "know" you're playing their one, not Treyarch's (although I'd of thought the large difference in quality would of told you that).

Besides, they can't constantly go out looking for new voice actors for background NPCs. More important characters always have original voices (except Gaz and the upcoming Ghost, although for some reason I get the sneaking suspicion that they're one and the same).

Plus, like the Cpt. Price thing, it's sort of indicative of generations of families fighting for the same side in wars that are years apart. The game's got a fairly surprising anti-war theme in it (what with the messages when you die and all) so it wouldn't surprise me.

all i'm trying to say is just because game are sequels doesn't make them un-creative.

i don't think you can judge how creative a game is on whether or not they use reoccurring character names. the idea of having characters like Price in most of the games is because people like Price so the chuck him in because of his Popularity

Captain Price kicks ass! That's why he's used in the games, if only captain macmillan was used more

I think a relative of Macmillan will be in MW2.Read that somewhere.
