I loved Diamond. I really wish I hadn't sold it. It was the only pokemon game I was stupid enough to sell.

True, I do take every opportunity possible to tear it a new asshole.

As you've probably seen me say, I do think it is a good game, it's just not great as an ending to the series.

But yes, more positivity is in order.

The color palette felt sort of pale to me, and I didn't like that. But some of the Pokemon were pretty cool. Not the worst gen.

Well the entire game didn't feel vibrant, or at least it's left that lasting impression. I used to play a lot of Emerald, and the colors in there were darker and more "full", while DP, as a whole, felt sort of dying and low tone.

I looked at the GZ trailer and skipped to when he gets off the helicopter. When it switched to gameplay I was shocked at how good it looked, the transition was beautiful. Then my inner cynic kicked in, this is meant to run on the current gen though if it looks that good on PC I'd be really happy. (Textures look shit though).

The open world setting sounds nice too, I'd like a few more concrete details first though.

So yeah, it looks amazing but I don't want to overhype myself so I'm reeling myself in.

Aha that's what I thought, it looks good yeah but this is only the first look. We can't go making assumptions based on what little we've seen. Don't go making promises you can't keep eh?

Spoiler: I remember the last time I was a victim of overhype that fell to crushingly dissapointing levels....

I did enjoy Darkrai and Arceus. I'm unable to take Palkia seriously though. And Azelf I downright despise.

I'm not a fan of the lake trio either, but why the Palkia dislike? I thought he looked quite cool as a rival to Dialga

It...isn't as bad as it was for me initially, but Team Galactic is still the dumbest team ever, with the dumbest dialogue ever. There was also far too much brown and gray and not enough green.

Still my least favorite gen thus far.

what are you talking about? theres no fourth generation. the series ended when ash lost the pokemon tournament. and whats this talk about Lucario and Garchomp? those werent in pokemon red or blue which, as we all know, are the only pokemon games ever made

The 4th-gen remakes (Heartgold and Soulsilver) are definitely very close to my favorite Pokemon games ever, both in terms of touch-screen functionality and otherwise in terms of gameplay.

It has basically everything you could ask for, including two whole regions.

Diamond/Pearl were fun, but they just don't compare to HG/SS for me, or even the other generations.
