Definately one of my favorite comedies, my friends didn't understand that it was a funny movie and looked at me like I was crazy when I was laughing my head of through most of it.

I'm one of the five or so people on the face of the planet who has yet to see it.

Edit; well, according to the poll it's more like 8 people.
... I'm not reediting if more people vote. D:

I voted "no".

Everything by Palahniuk seems to glorify and celebrate a remarkably one-dimensional and childlike world view.
Agreed, for the exact same reason.

Ah, Fight Club. I love that movie. Great editing, great music, great acting. A wonderful package all around.

The controversies around it seem to come from people saying that it glorifies this stupid juvenility. I once read an interview with Clint Eastwood that seems to be relevant to this.

Paraphrased, "People ask me if I think am pro-assisted suicide because of the ending of
Million Dollar Baby
. I used to go around in my old movies shooting people with a magnum but that doesn't mean I am pro for that."

The point is that just because an author writes something, it doesn't necessarily mean that he believes it.

Also, to the person who said the explosives mixtures aren't correct, the filmmakers changed them so kids wouldn't copy them and go around blowing stuff up.

Fight Club is my favorite movie. It is probably the movie I am most obsessed with. I believe Edward Norton and Brad Pitt have a brilliant dynamic. Also the story really drew me in as it took boring normality and turned it on its head. I haven't read the book YET but that's only because I haven't been able to find it.

and need I remind you (I'm not gonna say the First Rule of Fight Club since that would be lame)

The First Rule of Project Mayhem is we do not ask questions!

(sorry had to)

I enjoyed the movie muchly, haven't read the book.

However I think the film can stand on its own feet. V for Vendetta, I read the graphic comic second, and I prefer the comic. However I still enjoy the film (apart from the crappy ending with everyone being alive... what the feck? -_-; )
Everyone? I see to remember a lot of people dying... (including Stephen Fry!)
At the end when they take their masks off, Fry et al are there. I think its meant as a visual metaphor rather than them actually being alive though.
Same, I figured it was to reinforce the running theme throughout the film that V was an idea and could therefore never die, and therefore those who died fighting in that name will live forever.

Coincidentally there's a picture of V mask's underneath this message box.

As for Fight Club: great film. That's basically all I can say about it.

No. Although IMO, movie > book, I did not enjoy either. Particularly the book. There was a reason why one of the senior english teachers at my school refused to teach it even though it was on the curriculum - it sucked.

God yes. In my opinion the best movie ever. I follow the ideals in this film like a religion. A Powerful blow to the consumeristic lifestyle of western society and a reminder of what we once were and what we have become. I could write for hours the thousands of things I like about this film but I wont. Words cant describe the sheer power and ideological integrity this movie represents. See it. It may possibly change your life.

In Tyler we trust.
