Did you lurk before joining The Escapist?

Nope. I used lurk on other forums but I've gotten out of that since I've came here. I pretty much signed up after the first or second topic I read.

1 month watching every video on the site

Then I joined, learned about badges and watched them again.

For over a year, yes; I discovered this place in late 2007, observed more in 2008, and finally joined on my join date. This helped me never get mod-wrath.

Oh definitely...at LEAST a year of lurkdom.

I just watched the videos and read the articles I didn't feel compelled to input on them, and then I think I remember a topic like this before where I purposefully went to look at my first post and man was it retarded. I made an account to input on something really dumb. I must have been bored.

I lurked for more than a year in fact. I typically don't make profiles on websites since I'm pretty cynical about actually getting heard in most forums.

This website has a very low lurking average, if I may make up a term for that sort of thing. I've been looking at this site since Yahtzee was reviewing Lego Indiana Jones, back when he was still funny and relevant. I don't remember when I joined, but I lurked for a long while. I don't really like the articles, and some of the videos are played out and tired now, but this website keeps you current on what's going on with your favorite games, so I stuck around and occasionally badger someone on the forums.

Lurked for about a year.
I heard about it through Turbine's March Madness news post in 2008, and liked ZP/Unskippible. Next year, I joined in February and participated in March Madness.
Yes, I'm a Turbinite
I liked the quirkiness that was the forums, and hung around.
One of my friends is STILL lurking.

I registered after about a week of videolurking, then I found the forums, posted a little, forgot about the Escapist until January because of school. Then I started posting again, now I'm at almost 3000. :D

Yes i'll admit it i lurked around watching ZP and reading Stolen Pixels. There was always some interesting thread that i'd want to say something in but the whole registering thing kept me from doing so. Then i finally just said "fuck it" and made my account. It's been a pleasure since.
This. Really. Snooty' stop stalking my life...

I don't know why, but I lurk most forums. And then after a while I sometimes decide to join, or never.

I lurked for about a week before joining.

Seeing as how this community was different then what I was used to, I didn't want to pass up the opportunity.

Lurk, lurk, lurk. I would come every week to wach yahtzee's videos. After like a month of that I started watching other escapist videos. Read some forum posts, several I felt I needed to post in but was too lazy. Then I just registered recently.

I came for Zero Punctuation, and then the forum update sidebar drew me into lurking.

Every time someone mentioned that this was "the most elitist forum on the 'net" I was more motivated to post. Hopefully there are people more intelligent than I am, and maybe I can learn something here.

If not, it's something to do. >.>
