Did you lurk before joining The Escapist?

Yes I lurked for well over a year before I joined, I finally got around to joining to play some of the entries for the Stoinking Great Game Contest.

This is generally the same as me. I first came here for zero punctuation and joined for the same reason as the qoute.

In between waiting for the new Zero Punctuation, yeah. I lurked a whole lot.

It was actually seeing the interactions between members that made me want to join up. All the buddy-buddy "exclusion" crap people always ***** about nowadays. I saw people sharing private jokes and shit and thought "hey, I want to be a part of that".
It took me a while to build up the courage. All of these awesome people having a great time. I join in, and I'm just going to fuck the whole thing up. You know how it is.
Of course, I was right in the end. I tried to join in on the interactions and I just made an ass of myself. Frankly, I wish I'd never bothered.

Still here, though. I've made quite an evolution in the past two years. It actually annoys the fuck out of me to read my earliest posts.

Yes, it started when a kid at summer camp told me about Zero Punctuation, as I watched I couldn't help but notice the forum bar in the side and I got curious, I only lurked for about a week and then I joined.

Well yeah, like you I was lurking for about a year. I was just watching some of the shows on the website and occasionally looked at the forums. The forums started becoming more appealing to me so I ended up joining and viola! Here I am. I'm not exactly a regular yet or anything, but man lots of good fun and plenty of good discussions floating around. The community is awesome and there is plenty to stay around for.

How's it working out for you?

Its great! Ive sunk my teeth in to some old Zero Punctuation (That's one funny Troll!) and Extra Credits. I am very glad I joined, not regretting it one bit!

Pretty much this.
I lurked about several mounts before joining(this was because my "no forums" policy; back then I didn't think there would be such a thing as a smart/welcoming forum).
I even lurk nowadays because I'm lazy and hate to write, so I lurk first, select a few threads to post in and that's about it.

Glad to hear it! There used to be a show called Unforgotten Realms that I used to really like. But I do admit the reason I heard about this site was because of Zero Punctuation.
