basically its like this 0 and infinite are reciprocals example being:

0/X is equal to 0 right

flip it

X/0 is an infinite number because 0 ,or nothing, can divide into anything infinitly
(one exception probably being 0/0 which should give you 1 but you cant get something from nothing with out an infinite supply of energy(also known as time travel))
also those who have been through a simple calculus class should be able to prove this using limits.

That's ridiculous. How many times does 5 fit in 0? NOBODY KNOWS, BUT IT SURE AS HELL ISN'T 1.

You can't divide by zero. You can't. It's not that you aren't allowed to, it's simply impossible.

But here's something absurd: the universe would automatically reset itself and turn into something that's even more complicated than it is today.

Does anyone actually know why you can't divide by zero? What is the mathematics behind it making it an impossible task? I guess that's much like asking why you can't take the square root of a negative number, you just can't because it can't exist. But why doesn't the ability to divide by zero exist? If this thread answered that it would actually be productive.
