Guitar hero has been a fun series but now they seem to be moving on to DJs now. Is this drastic move going to destroy the franchise all together? I personally think that it was a stupid idea, as Zoo Magazine described it "If you wanted to DJ, then just use a real DJ"

All of the "Hero" games are fucking ridiculous, especially DJ and Band Hero.

Band Hero is just fucking pathetic. Its got Taylor Swift on the soundtrack. It fucking sucks.

And DJ Hero is just stupid. You do the exact same thing as a real DJ as you do in DJ Hero. Just be an actual DJ.

It looks fun, so maybe it is a good thing. my friend has it and he loves it.

And what is with all the "If you want to be a DJ/Rockstar, then be a real DJ/Rockstar

Can't people see that there is a difference?

or "If you wanted to play the guitar, use a real guitar"? Same thing.

Anyway it depends on the type of music you're into. I think I'd enjoy DJ Hero more than guitar hero (never actually played Guitar Hero though) because it's more my type of music.

Umm, maybe I don't want to be a real DJ, maybe I just want to have fun with my friends and play along with some music. Hmmm? =/

Will there ever be a time in which people don't complain about something just because they don't fund enjoyment out of it?

I didn't think so either.

it's a good idea that just went to the wayside...it's not heavily advertised as a lot of games but it does deserve some credit.

Being an actual DJ and learning how to use real turntables takes boatloads of practice and excellent musical instincts...same with learning actual guitars and other things. The "Hero" line of games (and Rock Band) allow people with less talent, time, and/or interest to feel cool without all the nasty hard work involved.

Note: I have played piano for 18 years, have a bachelor's degree in music, and am working on a master's in music...and I still love GH/RB. It's fun, what else can I say?

It's had some pretty heavy advertising in the UK. Despite people thinking it would go the same way as Tony Hawkes Ride and just plain suck, it's had some stellar reviews.
I'm not into the music, but I'll be getting it when it drops in price. It looks excellent and a fresh kind of play experience. Which is what I'm all for in gaming. Fuck da haters.

Best thread title ever, By the way.;)

Was the pun in the title intended, or not?
Dammit, you can't have Furburts old avatar and getting first post on a thread. Do you know how confusing this is?

It could be fun, but I have never played it. I don't think they will abandon the idea of guitar hero and the amount of money it makes.
[small]still praying for a system of a down guitar hero/rock band[/small]

I wonder if they'll be doing Jazz Hero next and at the end you have a trumpet battle against Louis Armstrong.

Guitar Hero has probably drained the well as far as Guitar worthy songs, Band Hero makes absolutely no freakin' sense whatsoever due to Guitar Hero having a full band in it now.

DJ Hero seems a bit stupid and unnecessary, but I guess Activision wants to keep milking the Hero cow.
