I'm just waiting for a Keyboard Hero or Violin Hero ',:/

No really, I think I would like the hilarity of it.

But Rockband is pretty fun for me =[ I find it hard to learn real instruments, so it's nice to pretend once in a while xD
[sub]Yes I'm aware how sad that is.[/sub]

DJ Hero though... Don't appeal to me o_O

My friend bought the game, and I went over to his house, and it really isn't all that bad.
Yes, most of songs on their kinda suck, but it's still kinda fun.

Yeah, the "_____ Hero" series is getting a little out of hand. Soon they'll be making this:

I own the Dj Hero game and i enjoy it...in fact i find it more enjoyable than Guitar Hero/Rock Band because i'm doing more with my hands and with my ADD that helps a lot.

Guitar Hero has probably drained the well as far as Guitar worthy songs, Band Hero makes absolutely no freakin' sense whatsoever due to Guitar Hero having a full band in it now.

DJ Hero seems a bit stupid and unnecessary, but I guess Activision wants to keep milking the Hero cow.
The point of Band Hero was Guitar Hero's answer to Lego Rock Band: trying to target younger audiences. That's why it has crap in it like Taylor Swift.

Isn't DJ Hero an entirely different game? I mean, yeah, it's still hitting colored bricks in time with music, but from what I've seen of the game, the playstyle has to be a world apart from Guitar Hero. It's like comparing Street Fighter and Soul Calibur.

Anyway, I don't think Guitar Hero's going anywhere. As long as people keep buying it, sequels will keep getting made, and people will probably keep buying at least until the end of this console generation. It's easily deposed Super Smash Bros./Mario Kart/Mario Party as the party game to have.

Lego Rockband actually had a good setlist.
A music game with a shit setlist is a shit game.
Still, though, the point was to target younger players. It just failed hard.

I've been a practicing DJ in my bedroom for nearly three years now, and I'll tell you all right away that DJ Hero doesn't even begin to duplicate what the real thing is all about.

It took me a solid seven months of practice before I was able to put together a set that didn't sound like an old cassette mixtape, and even then there were still tons of clashy mixes on my part. I've gotten much better over the last year, but there's still so much for me to learn......

As for the game? The tracks have been blended together for you perfectly by the game's designers and the musicians who provided the tracks, so all you're left with is another music rhythm game with a different input method. At most it will teach you some of the basics about scratching. And even then you're just following along with pre-programmed motions.

Like I've said about Guitar Hero and Rock Band before it......it's a great party game and a fun time-waster, but if you're serious about getting into playing music or DJing I wouldn't waste my time with any of these. Buy a real set of instruments or invest in a mixer/turntable combo (or laptop/MIDI controller for you digital jocks!) and learn how to do it for real. Simple as that......

Expert drums come pretty close to preparing you to play real drums.

Aren't you able to convert the ION drum kit that comes with Rock Band into a digital drum set that actually works like the real thing? I heard it had something to do with swapping out the brain or motivator or whatever it is that makes it work.

One of my DJ/producer buddies on Facebook linked me to a video where they actually converted it into a full-blown MIDI drum set, which was pretty freaking cool to me......

DJ Hero is at least an original game mechanic. I went through all my games today, and there are way too many shooters. I'm sick of shooters. first, third, rpg, modern... whatever. I'm really tired of them. I'm buying DJ Hero because it's original and looks fun.

It looks fun, so maybe it is a good thing. my friend has it and he loves it.

And what is with all the "If you want to be a DJ/Rockstar, then be a real DJ/Rockstar

Can't people see that there is a difference?
It makes me think of this:

I have played DJ Hero. It's quite fun, but not worth £70.
It feels like innovation for the sake of it and unless a whole host of sequels justifies the additional hardware then it will die unnoticed.

I hope this doesn't represent a dead end for the rhythm game industry.
