We've all heard about how bad certain games, like Too Human and Spiderman: Web of Shadows, Ironman, and Force Unleashed are. We've all heard how great, or decent, certian games like Mass Effect and BioShock and Fallout 3 are.

So why, when I own games like Mass Effect, Bioshock, Fallout 3, Gears of War 2, Mercenaries 2, Fable 2... have I spent the majority of my time playing games like Dynasty Warriors 6, Assasins Creed (I played the HELL out of that game), Spiderman: WoS (I did all the side quests, biatch), Force Unleashed (all the unlocks the bug I got lets me get, including both end costumes and the black light saber) and now, I find I really get into Ironman and I LOVE Too Human.

I mean, admittedly I did play a good bit of Mass Effect, Fallout 3, and BioShock, eventually I just put them down and never got back into them. I was never able to force myself to play more then the first mission in Dead Rising (got pissed when my camera ran out of batteries and I had no idea it'd do that), and playing through Fable 2 is like pulling teeth for me.

Do I just love crap?

I'm honestly concerned. At first I just chaulked it up to my ADD, but... I can SEE the flaws in these games, but I just don't -care- for some reason.

Every game has flaws. The majority of the games on your list are great. And in the end it boils down to personal opinion, like I always say, just because someone doesn't like it doesn't mean it's shit.

It just seems to me like you like mindless beat-'em-up action and dislike games that focus on story or complexity (or both).

Nothing wrong, or even inherently unintelligent about preferring senseless violence. It just means you embrace the "living out fantasies" part of escapism more than the "drawn into another world" aspect.

Nah. All games were made with one idea in mind: To entertain someone out there. Hell, it worked.

It seems you just have a very good toleration for crap which is very useful now-a-days. Who knows maybe you just enjoy playing what you call terrible games and you subconsciously make fun of them in you brain making them more enjoyable to you.

Whoa, whoa, whoa...Force Unleashed is crap now? When the hell did this happen?!

Now to answer your question, do you just love crap? Maybe. It really depends; are you convinced that everyone else is right about what makes a good game, or do you want to say 'screw 'em ', and play whatever game you feel like? Honestly, what makes a good game really comes down to what you want from a game. Let me give you an example: I dislike the Gears of War series because it won't let me use the chainsaw on all enemies. This doesn't make it a bad game, per se, but it's different from what I want, so I call it a bad game. Do you see? It doesn't matter what other people say! Just play whatever you want!

Aint nothing wrong with liking games a lot of people dislike. I've played and loved each game on your list except Spiderman WoS and I very much enjoyed em all (maybe im easily entertained, oh well). As long as your entertained by them and have fun thats all that matters.

Assassin's Creed FTW!

Fallout 3 is simplistic and bubblegummy compared to the originals mass effect isn't exactly the height of storytelling and bioshock is system shock 2 without any of the difficulty. So no you don't love crap you like interesting original IPs that happen to be fun action games.

I sort of disagree and feel it's the opposite. The story is one of the reasons I like Too Human. I mean, it's designed like a ps2 game, redelent with teleporting NPC's and cutting off dialogue and unexplained context sensitive actions. But I just got giggly when we met the Aesir and one of them started speaking in nothing but rhymes while Thor and Freya bickered over Freya's tendency to be a total whore.

Games that you like aren't crap, they are just the games that you like and have fun in which is all that matters. Others may not like, but who cares?

no you don't. a good game is a a matter of opinion, you seem to favor games with massive enemy whoopass as TH,TFU,and DW all have large enemy spawning. i also agree with you on too human and assassin creed, the latter due to massive replay value, the former due to me shredding dark elves and trolls to pieces with my lvl 50 cyber bio.

I couldn't stand GTA IV, and I can't stop playing Saints' Row 2. Prince of Persia is boring, but I'll gladly spend 6 hours climbing buildings in Assassin's Creed. My favorite game is Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines, which is the most broken piece of crap that ever hit shelves since Atari's ET.

I also didn't think Twilight was all that bad (even if the story was stupid), and I like Nickelback in small doses. I also have an unironic love for Mr. T and Silver Age Batman that gets me into trouble all over the Internets.

So clearly I have no taste and shouldn't go out in public. But then I remember that it's MY effing free time and I'm only going to spend it having fun, and often times crap is really fun. So *vomit* on you self-appointed cultural critics. Time to watch Birds of Prey!

It's subjective, all it really means is you're less elitist and more open minded than most people here.

I thought Force Unleashed was pretty sweet, and i got the Wii version lol If you enjoy a game then i guess you can't really call it crap, who decides whats good and what isnt in the first place? You should be, we all like different things in a game
