Like video games have the bad rap of being called murder simulaters, is Metal music still called evil and a threat to people?

No, I do not think anyone has ever called it satian music. I am not entirely sure what that means.

I imagine there are quite a few heavily religious sorts who do still call it Satan music, though. As long as there are those overly zealous devouts out there, there will be people who believe that sort of nonsense.

Somewhere out there, someone is still probably calling Jazz "the devil's music."

So yes.

I'm sure a few do. They're probably the same ones who think Harry Potter and the Golden Compass are products of the devil meant to corrupt our children.

My best friend's mom thinks there's little lucifers in the metal music, and when my friend listens to it, they creep through his headphones and into his ears and get inside his brain. They're going to turn him into a serial killer or something. No seriously, she said all this to me. She was scared to shit, she wanted me to convince him to stop listening to it.

I think the outcome was, I convinced him to leave his mom and go live on his own.

Sure just go on you-tube and search the comments and eventually you'll find some idiocy. Seriously its like the cesspool of misinformed opinions.

my mom is a born again christian and her and her insane friend think all rock is written after the artist sells their soul. I argued this with "Spirit in the sky" by Norman Greenbaum. if you don't know the song has the lyric
"Prepare yourself you know it's a must
Gotta have a friend in Jesus
So you know that when you die
He's gonna recommend you
To the spirit in the sky"
and she actually argued that and I quote "It doesn't say which spirit he means and there are bound to be satanists named Jesus"
and that is why I'm agnostic.

Because then it makes religious folks have an easier time condemning it when its called SATAN music.

(hint, edit your post to spell it right or you'll get alot of comments about non exsiting satian music.
Only from pedantic arseholes, let's be honest. :)
Also you forgot to close your brackets. Also, 'a lot' is two words. Also, it's spelt 'existing'.

Lolz I was just thinking about that today. I went to a Lutheran middle school, so many years ago, and for some reason they banned the Harry Potter books but they actually stocked the Golden Compass trilogy ... of course this was a few years before that movie came out, so I don't think they really knew what they had put on the shelf lol. On the other hand, they basically worshiped the Narnia series (We had a class where the only thing we did was sit in the dark classroom and listen to all the Narnia series on audiobook, to get us ready for the movie that would be out shortly). The thing is, Narnia and Potter have so much in common. They're both based in magical fictitious universes, they both have witches, they're both written by Christan authors, and they both teach Christian values. It's just that one is an epic masterpiece and the other is a poorly written, furry biblical allegory.
If you couldn't tell, I like Potter a lot ^_^
