Big as in strong or big as in fat?
Agreed. This topic could turn out to be a bit controversial if it's regarding the latter. My female friends ignore guys who are all obsessive muscular walking balls of steroids and only ignore guys who are overweight that have a nasty persona.
I'm not a model of fitness but I find that my female friends and such treat me with just as much respect because of my down-to-earth friendly honest nature. My size and shape is virtually ignored really and a really nice intelligent girl usually do look beyond any sake of apperance

No. If they're tall, they've got to be slight. I prefer them to be about average height, not tall. I like tall women though.

I am 6 feet tall. I've definitely dated a guy who was about an inch shorter than I. We're not dating anymore, but yes, fickle as that may sound, I'd rather date someone taller than I. Not that I don't love my guy friends that I am taller than, but it just seems weird for me.

OT: It really depends on the personality of the 'larger' male, and how well groomed you are. You won't get anyone if you're a slob and don't clean yourself. If you carry yourself well, eat right, take a shower, and wear clean clothes, then you have a higher chance. Cause even if a guy was male model material and a total nasty slob who didn't clean himself.... ew?
I think the clean factor should go without saying. But I love girls who say they like taller guys. I'm short, but when I hear a girl say they will only go with tall guys I take it upon myself to prove to them how awesome short guys are.
A bit of a segway to OT: That's what this guy should do. Even if a girl isn't a fan of big-ol boys, he should make the effort to show them what good lovin really is.

I interpreted this in four ways.

1. Dick jokes inbound! Most girls don't care about penis size, unless you can't actually penetrate, then I'd imagine that they care.

2. Muscles, girls like them. Not huge muscles, but when you look like you've hit the gym recently.

3. Fatness, girls don't like it. Usually that is.

4. Muscle/fatness; girls don't seem to mind if you're fat but look like you have muscles.

Of course, everybody's different, some girls may be attracted to something that another girl wouldn't, same with how us guys will often have differing opinions on which girls look better.

My brain is fried, so that's why I can't type for poop today.

Yes, but not all of them.

This question is pretty open ended though, what kind of "BIG" guy are you talking about?
overweight. not totally obese
Ah, then you're fine. Get a tan and go for asian girls. I don't know why why but I seem to see hot asians with big guys every time I go into a sushi bar.
I don't know why though. Find out how that works and get back to me.
Everytime I see that sort of thing I can't help thinking: "Mail-order bride, mail-order bride, mail-order bride."
I always think she is in porn and he is the body-guard.
That's awfully wrong eh?

Seems that most women prefer men who are taller than them, if only slightly - in the same way that men tend to prefer women who are shorter. Guess it might have something to do with primal instincts... Or maybe it's just because on average, women are shorter than men, so this kind of couple is just more statistically likely.

One thing I find quite interesting is that among couples I know, tendency seems to be the shorter the girl, the taller the guy. It's like they were all aiming for a specific average height.
I've noticed this too - I am 5' and I've never dated anyone shorter than 6', but my friend who
s 5'11" has dated a guy who was 5'3".
Us short girls steal the tall guys for some reason.

OT: Slightly overweight isn't bad - in fact, they normally have wonderful arms.... but, I've noticed the scrawny guys tend to be in general better in relationship, albeit too clingy.

Big as in large bodied, depends. Big as in male genitalia size yes, size does matter to girls.
the second part is not true. If it was girls would hate by bedside bonanza. Girls just want you to show em a good time, and it doesn't matter how you do it.

As much as I'd like to believe that to many girls I know say "size does matter"

This really made me smile. :] I love you short guys!

I guess it's just hard to be 'so tall' in this world and be a chick. (Clothes shopping is horrible!) The female stereotype is to be small, petite, cute and rail thin. Sorry, World, I'm tall and curvy! Having a taller boyfriend just makes me feel more protected and, honestly speaking, smaller. I've been taller than boys all my life! Oh, cruel world! I used to hate it through middle school and high school. I love being tall now.

But yes, no matter what size you are, you should be comfortable with yourself! A commanding comfortable presence does much more than a 6 pack!

Hmm, a MUST for me is they must be taller and older... I'd rather them not be stick think (emo I'm thinking) or stupidly obese... kinda big but through mucles and a bit of fat... I've basically summed up my other half.

I don't think I'm the shortest person here... but close.
I wanna be a lucky charm now :D Sounds like a good life, I dunno.

True story, I picked up a girl in College and went back to her dorm. I saw a foot long "toy" on the bedside that was thick as a baby's arm. Skip ahead till later, I overheard her talking to her friends about me when I walked by. Saying I was the best lay ever. Now I'm hung like a 12 year old. I'm not shy to say it, but I work well.
It's not about size, it's about what you do with it.

We need to know what your definition of obese is, and how tall you are.

The general rule I carry is simple: If theirs no overhang on your belt, your probably okay.

bah. I've talked to many women on this subject... size only matters up to a point. Its kind of like critical mass... once you reach it, adding more doesn't do much (Until you get to Tsar bomb sizes, and than its more of a run away screaming deal.).

After school special warning: Why would you want to feel smaller? Be who you are and love being a tall chick. I personally love being short. When I stand next to a mountain ready to climb I look around and I know I'm climbing higher than all of them, because I've got one more foot to go at the end.

Big as in tall or big as in "well fed"?
I'm both, but I'm not so sure it's doing all that much for me, especially when I think I heard some girls call me "Hagrid".

Fucking twats.

It would be fun! The breaking point would be you have to look good in green. That and an Irish accent, but that can be faked well enough.
