I'm a very different person online than in real life
for instance if someone says "Grand Theft Auto 4 was a well constructed fun game" online I'll give them a rant and a half about how all the motorized vehicles feel like trying to maneuver a canoe over dry land with both your arms being chewed on by rabid ferrets. and how walking is even harder. and how having to answer your fucking text messages every five minutes is a fucking pain in real life.

but if someone says "Grand Theft Auto 4 was a well constructed fun game" in real life and I hear them I'll follow them around learning their daily routine formulate a plan then when they least expect tie them up and reenact my favorite scene from Dexter on them and everyone in their family.

so I guess it's a good thing that I don't go out much huh

oh you're talking about Xbox live or PS3 live or what ever

well I don't use a mike on Xbox live, and I don't talk to people in real life so...I suppose I do act the same on the internet.

I talk a lot and share my thoughts to people I don't know online... something I would never even think about doing... or if I do think about doing it my low self esteem just reminds me, "They don't care what you think, just sit there and try not to look stupid this time... I can't count how many times you've sounded like a complete idiot talking to that girl you fancy so much..."

I'm pretty much an asshole online.
What? I have to be nice for a living... online gaming is a safe route to vent my rage on the moronic masses of humanity. Only friends and people I play a lot with escape my ire.
By asshole I don't mean a griefer. I've been banned from servers for team killing entire teams of griefers.
So maybe....lawful evil?

For the most part, yes. Here the power of anonymity kicks in a bit though so I'm usually a little more talkative.

I act in real life the way I act online.

The difference is subtle and profound

I act pretty much the same but I think i open up a lot more online, talk more and interact better. I sometimes say horrible things to hackers who ruin MW2 games that i wouldn't usually say, but they deserve it.

I act pretty much the same. Maybe I'm more polite on the Net, as I have more time to think what Isay when typing.

Approaching people is easier on the Net.

Person + Anonymity = Jerk. It's a well-known formula.

But yeah, I'm pretty much the same online. A bastard-covered bastard with bastard filling, with a glaze of a nice human being.

Generally I'm pretty respectful to people no matter what I do. So yes I guess I do act the same.

I'm pretty much the same online as in real life: honest, speaking my mind and being a (hopefully in other people's eyes) a good person (good manners, and good virtues: Yes, they are different things).

I don't play very many games where you can yell at just anyone. I usually use voice chat to make callouts and ask for help when my friends are in the same game as me.

I'm more open online.
maybe it's just the Anonymity but I generally feel more comfortable talking online.
I just happen to be quite shy in real life.
What he said.

I'm not prone to fling insults, and I'm actually pretty quiet just like I usually am. The exception to this is when I play LfD, and I'll often get agitated easily for no real reason. I suppose you could say that I don't differ much online or off, unless of course zombies are involved.

I would say I'm the same. I'll compliment a good game, and completely rage when I lose a game I knew I could have won IRL or online. But I do swear more online than I do IRL.

Usually i act and sound no different on online games or forums. I try to help people, if i dont like something, i'll tell about it, although im not scared to argue on the internet. I guess thats the only difference, im safe behind a screen where noone knows who or where i am =D
