If I remember right, there are 50 habitable planets within 20 lightyears of Earth (I may have those numbers backwards). If I remember right, there is one planet with life on it and three what scientists have said "Yeah, life could be or could have been there" just within our solar system. Considering we are one of 100 billion galaxies with 100 billion stars making them up, I would say it is very likely life is somewhere else out there. It is at least 4.27 lightyears away though.
No life has ever been proven to exist outside of this planet not originating from this planet ever. This is false. No discovery has been made. This 50 habitable planets thing is also wrong an d i have no idea where it came from. Where are these planets? Surrounding what star? The nearest star is 10 light years away that is observed to have planets so i dunno why aliens would sit 10 years travelling light speed (which is basically impossible for a craft) to examine a shit tonne of anuses. Its rediculous. People oftem get confused about if life has or has not been proven to exist outside earth. It has not. Not even close. Not suspected. We have seen earthlike planets really far away. We have seen perhaps water on other planets. Life? No. Never. Not even a smigin, signs of gas that life makes? Maybe.

Of course there is life out there considering the huge expanse of the universe. Near us? Not likely at all. Intelligent? Also very unlikely. Contacting us? One in a billion billion shot.

I don't believe we are the only life forms in the universe, that kind of thinking (at least to me) is closed minded and to be quite honest, backwards.
Although the assumption that life forms require oxygen and water to live is kind of stupid since even here on earth we have plants and animals that live on the sea bed under immense pressures and live off sulfur.

In short, yes, I do.

In a certain point of view, we -ARE- aliens too ya know.
But that aside.

Surely there is -somewhere- -some- form of live, be it sentient or not..

You might not believe in aliens, but they believe in you!
haha. I couldn't resist, myself I don't really care about aliens :p

In fact we had realistic designs for nuclear powered spacecraft on the table in the 60s, when they were talking about high-end estimates being ships the size of skyscrapers capable of traveling at nearly 80% of light-speed, IN THE SIXTIES. .
Citation. This sounds very false. Why didnt we use it? Why have we not built one? Why are we still launching with rocket jets that keep exploding. This seems far too illogical. We would have used them. Plans might have existed. But practical? 100% servicable? Impossible. Its like if we had fusion for 50 years and just never used it. It wouldnt happen.

Aliens are mathamaticly guarenteed. the universe is infineite, so anything that has a non zero chance of happening is guarenteed to happen, and life has happened at least once (here) so it will have to happen elsewhere.
universe is not infinite and therefore not mathematically guaranteed
that's why i'm an alien agnostic

as for aliens that visited earth
i'm really really sure that this never happened and never will happen in the near future
just because the universe is that big the mathematical chance of aliens even knowing of our galaxy is mathematically insignificant
and the mass of supposed alien sightings on earth even strengthens my belief in that

Um. Proxima Centauri is four point two light years away. dunno where you got 10 from.

other than that detail, yeah, no one has visited the earth, certainly not to be video taped fucking around over a city.

You know why bubbles are Spheres?
its because energy goes in every direction in the same amount.
the same way the best "Vessel" to hanlde smarter and smarter life forms are two legs, two arms a body and a head. this is like this because of gravitational preassure or "the planet's weight"
and this planet its one of few whit such conditions, mainly water in its liquid form, but if, and only IF out there, a planet withs same or most stats its present, it is a huge possibility that theres "Alien" life form, but its really meager the chances of "intelligent life forms".

Meager not impossible, and if they were they be much like us, and have the same needs, or most of them, maybe even they watch hentai and dream of "making contact".

Do i belive theres Aliens, hell yeah.
Do i belive theres inteligent Life forms, sure, there HAS to be.
Do i belive they control worlds goverment and influence every step of human evolution in the cosmos? nah
Do i Belive in a Catgril race with DD cups? nope, but surely i want to make "Contact" with them alot.

As with many others I believe aliens, purely for probability reasons, the universe is too large for us to be the only ones. Plus there is evidence of bacteria etc in space so why couldnt have something evolved? and why not evolved as a non-carbon based life form like we expect, thus making life on non-earth like planets possible?

I dont believe though that they are coming here regularly to tip cows, anal probe, invade governements and draw in cornfields.

Has something visited though? Who knows, assuming that they are capable of inter-stellar travel I;m guessing they would be much better at finding life than we are.

Statistics makes the case that aliens should exist, and I'm inclined to agree. Now, whether said aliens can be classified as intelligent life or not is an entirely different debate. And not one in which anyone can present empirical evidence to support their case - thus, I have no opinion.

Believe in aliens in what sense? As in "think it plausible that there is there some form of sentient and perhaps sapient life out there somewhere in the universe" or in the "believe in UFOs" sense? Yes to the first, no to the second.

I'll let The Man himself take this one.

Yes I believe somewhere out there they exist. Do I think it is possible they have visited here before? Yes, when you take that old adage of sufficiently advanced technology looking like a miracle coupled with history being skewed by being passed through multiple mouths and minds it is entirely possible in my opinion for them to have turned up some time in the past. Do I think they are some conspiratorial force ruling the earth secretly? No, I do not.

Today while I was getting lost in YouTube I found this video again that I had seen a few months ago now and thought I'd share it with you guys.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=87PRVP4EQAo

I'm sure some of you have already seen it, then again, I'm sure some of you have not.

Now I don't really want to get into big debate over whether aliens are real or not but I mean, that's some pretty weird shit going on there..

I've always been undecided on whether I think aliens are real or not, It's such a hard thing to get your head around, but I always think that with the size of the universe and everything that's in it, can we really be the only lifeforms in it?

So I just wanted to ask all the escapee's if you think aliens are real or not?
Do you think we'll ever make contact?
What the hell are the things in that video?

I know these are huge questions and if any of us truly knew the answer we wouldn't be sitting on here, I just want to know all of your thoughts on the matter.

Cheers!
What if the world was made of glazed doughnuts?

OT : Aliens? Sure, they do exist, and they are probably less retarded than the human race.

Aliens exist, there's no doubt in my mind about it. Its a mathematical impossibility that they don't. I doubt they'd be messing around with Earth however. What do we have that the entire universe has? - Well okay, a fair bunch. But most of the universe isn't defended by fanatics with nuclear weapons.

Yes, I believe in aliens.

Do I believe that they are as sentient or as sophisticated as us? Not entirely. I think it's very possible that there are creatures out there who are no smarter than a Dog or a cat.

Technically no. similar to any kind of supernatural occurrence, I see no evidence to suggest that they exist. However, I think it is PLAUSIBLE that "aliens" exist, given the size of the universe. And I'm all for looking for life on other planets, but I'm not 100% convinced we'll find anything.

Aliens on earth though? That's all kinds of bullshit.
