Yes. If I enjoy a demo, more often than not I will purchase the full game (i.e. Call of Duty 4, Left 4 Dead 2, Audiosurf) or at least put said game on my list of games to buy in the future (i.e. Need for Speed: Shift, Crackdown, Bayonetta).

Batman: Arkham Asylum and Just Cause 2 are two games that I wanted based on the demos.

Yes and I also pass on games due to the demo.
Indeed. Why just yesterday I bought Mass Effect 2 for my 360 based off it's demo. Thus far I am quite pleased with it. Strange since I hated the first one.

No, not really.

I never tend to play demos.
Last I bought was Red Dead Redemption, and that I did not need a demo to get.

First I play the demo if I like I just rent it. I did this for was Batman Arkham Asylum and lost planet. But I got lost planet a week after I rented it.

I bought AvP after playing the multiplayer demo. I sold the game two days later.
Well the demo was a lot of fun. =/

If for any reason I can't rent it or play it somewhere else, a demo is the only deciding fator in if I buy a game.

A good game demo can twist my view on a game eight ways to Sunday, Uncharted being a good case in point.. When the new generation kicked in, I knew I'd have to jump into the stream of shooters at some point. I didn't really want to, and I felt somewhat annoyed that Naughty Dog jumped on the bandwagon.
But then I played the demo.
And all was well.

I'm sure there's an equivalent for a demo doing the opposite and proving a good game to be bad, but I can't think of one.

I make it my Number 1 rule to never buy games that don't have demos or some other way of trying them out first* (like free weekends)

*Exceptions being expansion packs and sequels that are similar to the original.

Yeah, I downloaded the Overlord 2 demo before I bought it (I enjoyed the game). I also downloaded the Republic Heros demo (Star Wars fanatic), and you know, smite me, but it wasn't half bad.

Only if the demo makes me desperate for the game. Hasn't happened much but that's probably because I usually don't download/play demos, I wait for someone whose opinion I trust to buy and play it, then see what they think.

I work on the basis that if I play a demo through more than once that is usually a good indicator for me. I recently pre ordered Kane and Lynch 2 due to the demo.

Inversely, I occasionally cancel pre-orders due to underwhelming demo action. (Crackdown 2 I'm looking at you.)
