Now way. HL2, Warcraft 3, Pokemon Blue, Praetorians. All these games are getting on quite a bit but they are fantastic and I still play them. Also some of my friends see me play them and they will (sometimes) put down MW2 to play them with me.

Some games mature like fine wine. They get better the older they get.

The majority of games I own are over 3 years old, most of those older than 5 now, some of them are still the best and make me happier than newer games. :) I can play those for hours without getting bored.

No.
To stave off a probation for a one word response, quality is timeless, just because something is "old" doesn't make it worse. The only thing with games that get worse with time is the graphics, compared to current gen games. As long as the rest of the game is good, or the graphics don't reduce it to unplayability (hasn't happened to me), then it doesn't matter at all.

I take it into a slight consideration. Some things age much better than others.
In general, if the game hasn't gotten a sequal or superior clone, then the age makes no difference.

I think the Beatles and Beethoven would like to take issue with your sisters regarding 'old music iz teh bad' arguemnt. *rolls eyes*

Since I still drag out the ASCII games I played when I was a wee bairn (Adventure, Zork, and Rogue), yeah, I'd have to say that the age of the game really doesn't matter.

Age does not matter to me. Yesterday i bought Duke Nukem 3D from XBL arcade, and greatly enjoy it. I also like the older Final Fantasies(I-IV are the only old one's i have played), and Mario back in the prime of his youth. (i.e Super Mario 3, mario 64, mario rpg, etc).

And the old soldier of fortune is way better than the new one for 360.

Age doesn't matter to me, but I can acknowledge that some old games are pretty shitty. Wolfenstein games, for instance, are awful, the controls are terrible, and the graphics make it a mess, where a potted plant looks the same as a Nazi (blue vase, blue boots, brown leaves, brown uniform). I still find it fun, but I can see how others who didn't play it back when it was new would think it's trash.

However, since this is an opinion on whether I care about age, the answer is certainly no. I adore Ocarina of Time, Donkey Kong Country, Goldeneye, Starfox 64, Actraiser, Splatterhouse, Sonic the Hedgehog (only his Genesis titles), etc. They were great when they came out, and they're great fun now.

well, they probably don't like it because they'e noticed every contemporary band is copying the bands fro 3 years ago and to validate their purchases of music today, they must insult and ridicule the music of yesterday.

Sorta the same thing with games but some games really just lose their luster. Play an N64 game that's not Golden Eye or Legend of Zelda or Conker's and I find it hard to play because not everyone was good at making the leap in dimension and it already was poorly suited for any kind of respectable graphics or gameplay.

People still play these a lot (especially the 1st two). They're old, but they are still great games. Old =/= bad.
Last time I checked, CS 1.6 was the third most played game on Steam, after MW2 and CS:S. So, perhaps remove the bit in the brackets.
Thanks for that, I wasn't entirely sure so I thought it better to err on the side of understatement.
