Do you draw?

Well, I'm already part of one of the groups on here but yes, I draw..... not as often as I used to because I find myself in a lot of blocks but yeah, I really like drawing most of the time. I'm a -dramatic pause- FAN ARTIST. I have/had a dA but my sister's on there and she's more popular than I am so I fled to Tumblr to post my art before I realised that Tumblr's kind of a cesspool but I still put my art on there

Recently I've been all about palette pictures because I like having limited choices and seeing what I can do with the colour combinations. I have a handful of muses but Borderlands has me by the throat so I've been drawing.... looots of Hyperion losers.

One thing I absolutely cannot do for the life of me is backgrounds. I do people and sometimes... animals. Sometimes. Not well. Yeesh.

But yeah. I mean, I draw for fun; I was brought up with grandparents who didn't like colouring books because drawing what you wanted was the more creative route. I also paint buuuuuut those are less for others to see and more a venting tool. AT LEAST... my art looks kinda better than it did a year ago. Woo, those were REALLY dark times. I mean, these are dark times too but not nearly as dark as THOSE times

I used to do a webcomic that was featured on my high school's website... It only lasted a month on said website because it always linked to my formal website, where the comment section was too NSFW if any parent were to "stumble" across it...

Other than that, I took a couple of art-based classes and the best that came out of it was my natural talent of making art using charcoal... on top of remembering that I can still draw characters from Spongebob and Powerpuff Girls...

I've always been interested but I guess I was too lazy, well not really I didn't really want to be like my brothers and one of them already drew and painted so I decided against it even though I really liked the idea, I know I'm a bit old to start but I kinda want to do it, I'm really interested in making a comic, not for other people mind you there are some things I've thought about that I just want out of my head as comics, don't know why, so I've been considering it but I feel like I need to buy a drawing tablet, since in the long run it's cheaper than paper.

I used to draw a lot as a kid. I wasn't good at it, but I enjoyed it. Then school and my art teacher happened. She... wasn't the most encouraging teacher in that school. And as years went by, I started to care less and less about drawing. I still blame her for that.

I tend to doodle simple things, but I don't do any serious drawing. I really can't draw for shit. Mostly I just doodle when I'm on the phone or in some group conversation/meeting/lecture/class.

How exactly are you copying other artists stuff? Do you mean you trace over them or draw nothing but fanart or that your idea seems to always have been done elsewhere?
It's... IDK, I look at a piece [usually on the internet], then bits of the picture stick in my mind. Then, I mentally rescale it to fit the paper I'm drawing on. I tend to call my method 'Phantom Tracing', because it looks like I traced it.

Yeah, I draw and paint when I can. I used to share my stuff, but there's no reason to anymore. It's not worth it.

I spend my time emulating the work of the great artists of the past.
Here is my rendition of a Mondrian.
I believe I have succeeded in blending the style with the unique vibrance of my soul, achieving a balance that speaks of the mundanity of living in the modern world combined with the pain of human existence.

Here is my attempt at Barnett Newman's Voice of Fire.
It's still a work in progress, achieving those brilliantly clean lines is more difficult that you might think. However, I'm not going to be discouraged over a few misteps.

QUICK! Hide the Steven Universe fan art!!! The fans will hunt you down and tell you she doesn't have short nose :p
Without joking, I hope you didn't met a toxic fan of this series. I heard some very ugly things about some people of the fanbase...

I actually had a large post about this in another thread so I will simply copy and past it over. Add a couple of extra things I have done since then.

I can unfortunately go a long period of time without drawing and it depresses me to no end as I have many universes and storylines to explore but I always have so much on my plate that I fail to commit! ARGH!

Thanks very much! Yeah, these ones are all part of a world I've been putting together over a few years. Just hashing out concepts right now and building things up. Feel free to put them on your pinterest :) I have a Tumblr if that would be helpful for crediting me. [link]http://natpashdesign.tumblr.com/[/link]

I drew my own avatar, but it's gone now.
Not necessarily. Open an old Escapist PM and you might find that the message box displays a copy of your old avatar. You can also try visiting "http://quizzes.teen.com/profiles/view/" to see other people's old avatars.

Granted, they may not be the right size, but it's all kept in the internet somewhere.

I've still got the picture on my desktop as it happens but I was getting a bit bored with it anyway. I'll probably take the opportunity to draw a new avatar at some point.

I've been tinkering with 3D modelling for years on and off, but I'm so unbelieveably shit at it that I need to buy a 3D printer, print everything, then go and bury it in a mega-deep hole. And the hole is on fire.
I know that feeling too well, man. I keep getting into 3D, just to realise that I create crooked, misshaped abominations. The best thing my creation could be used for would be a door stopper.

Thank you!
Do you have some kind of backstory for your World you want to create? I am into "fake-development" videogames/comics/books/etc and I would love to know.

EDIT:
I read from your site different ideas you have for a Roquelike game. Nery interesting things.
If you like there is another user with share similar idea like you for a Demon Souls/Roque game.
Read it if you like:

I've actually been writing a lot about it recently and at the moment I'm putting together some documents about how the world works and how everything fits together. It's a little hard to explain here, but it's basically laying down some ground for the rest of my art and some small comics I am planning to write about stories in this world. It's also a nice way to develop my style and technique.

I guess the basic premise is that everything in this universe exists on the surface of a giant stone jellyfish-god-thing that drifts through an infinite sky, and its thoughts and nightmares resonate to make places and living creatures in a sort of dreamscape across its shell. There's a lot more nerdy lore I could go into. I have quite a few drawings and maps, but I'm not quite ready to put them out there yet :) when I do though, they'll definitely be on the blog I linked you before.
