Used to drink a lot in my teenage days up to about 24.. Compared to back then i'm just a casual drinker now, wine for dinner always works good, a glass of whiskey before sleep, 2-3 drinks in club, nothing above average.

Or basically: If drinking causes you to do illegal things, then it becomes other people's business whether or not you drink.

My mother and step-father and alcoholics, and have really given me a jaded opinion on the substance.

My father is an alcoholic. It taught me to never forget my own limits.
But it won't deny me a good drink.

I think you make an understandable and sensible choice there, but you should consider the possibility it's better to sometimes face your demons rather than try to avoid them.
Otherwise you'll never beat them, and they can be sneaky.

While I see your point in this I can't agree with it being used for alcohol. Any reason to stay away from it is good. But that's only my own opinion.

And (in case it's not obvious by that remark =P) no I don't drink. That is, I don't drink heavy stuff. I do enjoy the occasional 2.25vol% cider. But I've never been drunk and I don't plan on ever changing that. Reason? I've seen too many people turn into the worlds biggest pricks or annoying persons to wanna risk it myself.

Not old enough to drink, so even if I wanted to drink regularly, I couldn't. However, every time I've tried alcohol(at various special occasions), I couldn't stand the taste, so I probably wouldn't be drinking anyways.

Yes, probably 1-3 drinks a week. I enjoy a good beer (right now, dunkelweizen's are the top of my list), but a good Sangria or Mojito during the summer is always an option, too. And a good single malt scotch during the cold months.

As for drinking for the purposes of getting drunk... not really. Perhaps once every other year. I enjoy the taste of alcohol, and I certainly don't mind getting "buzzed" but getting really drunk? Nah.

Never liked the taste of any alcohol, so i didn't drink. Then I found out that I really like the taste of hard cider, so I have one or two of those on occasion. Never enough to get drunk though.
