I Wanna Be The Guy. That game was made to do nothing but fuck with you. You spend an hour trying to get past a single screen, you succeed at getting past all these fucking spikey things through perfectly timed jumps....only for the pattern to change completely about midway through and kill you. And then it does it three more times. I got a total of nine screens. I hate that game with such a passion.
Beat me to it, dammit.

Second choice? Nethack or ZAngband.

Borderlands.

Boasts something like 16 million supposedly randomized weapon spec combinations, yet every gun seems to to balanced to have one stat boosted and another complete shit; you NEVER find the perfect combination: High power? No scope. Scope? Shitty power. Elemental effect? Sweet! Accuracy? Ass. And forget about trying to find the holy grail of the perfect combination of power, accuracy, fire rate, elemental effect AND zoom! Will. Not. Happen. What ensues is a 69 level grind of picking up and dropping the same four guns with slightly different specs. And just when you get a decent gun, you level up and the same four guns that got you this far now, at best, cause minor skin irritation because the baddies level up with you; your search for guns starts over. It's not so much the advertised "Gun Porn" as it is just painful marathon masturbating to the view through a gun store's front window. I carried 15 SMGs because each had one decent spec; if I could only find a way to get them to form Voltron or some shit...
Thats like when I found this sweet SMG that had a scope, high fire rate, accuracy, and damage. It had exploding bullets with a x3 chance, and it was Maliwan, so it was pretty much just shooting exploding bullets.
Only draw-back: it took forever to reload. An SMG that reloaded slower than my fucking rocket launcher... ugh...
Borderlands has some sweet guns, but getting the god-tier gun that has good everything, is annoying as fuck.
Maybe in the next borderlands, they should implement something like Dark Cloud? Where you turn your current weapon into a sphere that has .6 the stats that it had before, but can put it into another weapon and make that weapon much stronger.
You could even choose what stat you wanted to convert into a sphere, so you could have an SMG that has a reload speed so quick that it mind as well have infinite bullets :D

OP: I had Star Fox 64 troll me yesterday.
I was fighting the tentacle rape boss in the last level before Venom (hard side) and I had both of my wings busted over the course of the battle. It kept going immune to damage for some reason, despite me shooting the three red orbs and hammering my A button into it's center, but whatever.
I finally got it to a sliver of health, just as I had for the last 4 minutes, and was dodging the little ships it was sending at me, when one ship I dodged by a mile, somehow came up FUCKING BEHIND ME and kamikaze'd into me...
Just about broke my Wiimote >=/

God of War.

There's a part in the later half where you have to balance on some bars while blades spin all over the place. The camera decides to freak out when you land, not showing the next blades coming for you, and I died a lot. Then the piece of shit game 'recommends' that I lower the difficulty, WHICH ONLY AFFECTS THE ENEMY HP AND STR!!!

I have never felt a game was actually mocking me before then.
This. The entirety of GoW1's Path of Hades pissed me off. God damn spinning meat tower bullshit...
Funnily enough, I didn't really have that much trouble with it. You recognize the patterns and move on up. I would say the Traps Of Madness were bullshit, though, and I will hear no argument to the contrary.

It's not the GAME dicking around with you, though. It's the designers.

Well there is that part in the story... But yeah, he's pretty much a beast.

If you ever want to get revenge, play as shiva and use her down arrow up arrow move. Again and again. Its so damn satisfying

I don't know about you guys, but the bots from RDR's poker tables should get fucking professionals. Liar's dice, horseshoe and everything... fine. But once you got to poker, or *gasp* high-stakes poker, you were basically screwed. I don't know how but it seems like they had x-ray vision.
Good hand? Too bad, everyone bailed out, enjoy your 20 chips. Bad hand but deciding to bluff? One guy will hold everything you bet, even the craziest amount and you'll get destroyed.

I have no idea how many masked homicides I committed at poker tables...

The game's kind of intended to be frustrating. Not hard, frustrating. Insanely so.

There is a mission in Jak 2 where the game is just sitting in a chair, sipping tea, and giggles whenever you die (actually, a lot of the game is like that. Just this one is most infamous for it). I personally breezed through on my first try and only got hit once, but a lot of people were suffering LOL. They loved the game, but the game didn't love them back. Man, not only was it among the hardest PS2 games, but that game also had a wonky difficulty curve. This mission is actually around the halfway point.

The scenario is basically you're on one end of the docks and you need to get to the mainland with an artifact...alive. It's a winding set of paths, some with dead ends and the mini-map doesn't help you very much (since you need to look at the entire area). Upon getting the artifact, every cop in the city is on your ass (as well as their cruisers). Soooo, you're getting flanked on all sides with cruisers dropping off more (and they'll shoot you if you travel too closely). You can only get hit 4 times (plus no health packs), there are guns shooting everywhere, and civilian are in your way. It can be a nightmare, and there are no checkpoints. Oh, and there is a turret in the water that instakills you if you touch he water. Oh you can get back up, but it still (somehow) kills you. It looks hard to stay on the docks, especially if you're on the jetboard or you get knocked back.

Though of course if you have enough dark eco and unlocked the bomb ability you can take the coward's way out and destroy the turret.

The way I got through it? Let's just say fat people make good shields. That and I'm a part time ninja.

EDIT: OH OH OH ANOTHER ONE! Also by Naughty Dog.

Crash Bandicoot is a game that is easy enough to beat but hard to 100%. The first game doesn't fuck around. If you DIE, then you lose all of your boxes (your main completion collectible) that you broke. Even if you got a checkpoint, the boxes don't count. You might as well start over again. It doesn' help that the game is pretty big with hazards and Crash (without Aku Aku) can only take one hit. Sunset Vista is a level with a nasty reputation for completing. Naughty Dog wanted you to EARN that 100%. The other ND Crash games use save-all checkpoints thankfully (which makes them a little easier, but you still have concerns with lives and cryptic secrets. I'm not going to start with the time trial relics on how you need minimum gold ranking to get 105%)

Wow, I have a dirty mind today. For a sec I thought this thread title was "Do you think games are fucking you" 0_0

OT: I'll got back to fable 1, remember the super weapon they had that you could only pull out if you had full strength in everything. after a long time of getting my stats up and at the anticipated moment I noticed the sword I was carrying was better then that sword. Fuck you fable I was really looking forward to that sword.

Don't get me started on Runescape, either. Anyone who's tried to get a Raven Egg before they could show up from that Kingdom Management thing knows - EXACTLY - what I'm talking about.
This is why I view eggs (and random pets in general) as bonuses, not as something I'm aiming to get. Much less stressful this way.
<-- has about 3 raven eggs, and I don't even know how many god eggs, on top of the baby raven, baby giant crab, and Guthix bird. I think that's all my random pets.

Mount And Blade: With Fire And Sword

I will be having a perfectly advantageous battle going my way...THEN BANG! I fall over dead as 1 bullet out of 40 hits me and kills me instantly even though I am wearing the thickest armour available.

Or I will have a massive and strong army of soldiers...ONLY TO GET REAMED! by a massive force of Polish Winged Cavalry...THE BUGGERS CAN SURVIVE DIRECT MUSKET SHOTS! AND THEY KILL INSTANTLY WHEN CHARGING!!! WTF!!!

While I do however ADORE the multiplayer Captain Co-Op or Siege modes, I tend to wanna strangle whoever was in charge of unit and weapon balancing for the game. Guns are powerful and fun, yet when EVERYONE has one it starts to come down to numbers over skill. PLUS! it sucks BALLZ that the Polish have the strongest Cavalry in the game and can WIPE the floor with a army that is around 100 troops with about 20 Cav.

In Assassin's Creed 2 and Brotherhood, when climbing through a puzzle chamber (Assassins' Tombs and Followers' Lairs, respectively), and the camera "helpfully" changes angle to give me a better view. Yeah, the view is better, but the camera guy suddenly jerking off on the job doesn't help no matter how good an angle the camera ends up on.

Actually, I found them to be easy. Until they got low on chips. Then they turned into the cheapest nickel-and-diming motherfuckers that I've ever faced playing poker.

Well... considering the time perioid this game is supposed to take place in, it's pretty much justified. Polish cavalry kicked surprisingly big amounts of butts in real life.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl.

You get to an area where there is a scientist who also sells things, and after you talk to him you must gain access to an underground complex.

Walking your way to the underground complex is like a punishment.
It's full of zombies with guns and some mutants named snorks.
Snorks are bullet sponges, they take many bullets to die but they don't ever leave any ammo.

First time I tried to get to the underground complex I ran out of ammo relatively quick and without ammo in that game you are already dead.

After trying a few times,I loaded an older save and went to the scientist and bought all the ammo he had for my weapon,an AK74.
With roughly 550 bullets I then went to infiltrate the complex.
On my way there I found some zombified stalkers waiting for me at another place they did before and after a surprize attack I died again.

I then proceeded carefully and shot them down.
I kept progressing and with assault rifle ammo being so scarce,I was left just with pistol ammo once more, even after having bought all the ammo the scientist had.
After many deaths and hard tries to get in just by using what I was left with I finally managed to get inside the underground complex, hoping there will be some ammo waiting for me inside.
Being able only to use my good almost for nothing pistol,I walk down the stairs, look at the dark room in front of me and slowly proceed. BAM!
In the first room of the complex there are about 3-4 dudes hidden in the shadows at different directions.
Each one of them require about 1 or 1,1/2 assault rifle magazines to drop dead, and I only carry my little pistol with me,while I die from just one or two 3 bullet bursts from their rifles.
Each one is in a different direction which means that as long as you are facing one to kill him,the others will be shooting at ya.
Killing just one of them with the pistol takes much longer time that what it takes for them to kill you.
There aren't enough cover spots in the room, and if you get in to let them see you and then go back out of the room, the enemies won't follow you out of the room as they do in most games,so you can't lure them to fight them one by one.

And then is that I think "Im F@CKED!".
I bought all ammo the scientist had, what else should I do ? Load an even older save and start the game 2-3 regions ago just to buy all ammo from all traders exist in the game ?
I thought that the computer players where cheating me and I decided to treat them the same way so I downloaded a cheat mod that gives you a super powerful gun with 1000 shots.
Then I passed it.

Note: I don't like cheating in my games or installing modes on a first playthrough, but when a game ends being just frustration instead of fun,and I start feeling that only a masochist would have the nerve to play such a difficult game to the end,I'll do it.
No ammo was your only problem? you are lucky.

My first time there was torture, I ran out of ammo for my AK and pistol but I found a Shotung so I was happy, but for some reason all the zombies and snorks decided to attack me at the same time (not kidding every single zombie and snork in the entrace to base attacked me at the same time) since everione was attacking me I hided inside a small building only to find out that there was radiation in there, so I left the building and because of that I took tons of damage and when I clicked my bandage hotkey I noticed my bleeding wasn't stopped.

I had no bandages, only had some shotgun rounds and I was bleeding a lot (red icon), I was able to get to the controller before giving up and loading another save, try to kill zombies and snork while hitting the medkit key every 5 seconds.
Everyone at the same time ? OMG.

To pass that point and enter the underground complex I did many things.
What I did first was to climb to a crane at the right of the entrance. There is a small room for the man who would use the crane and I hide myself there. From there I was able to aim and shoot some snorks from above without giving them the opportunity to reach me. And the metal of the crane provided some cover from shootings.
But then I had to get down and the tactic I mostly used was to walk some steps to see what is next, and when there are too many enemies I then move back and make them come after me when it is possible so I can fight them one by one in a straight line.
Sometime it works but not always.
