Frequently. The most recent example was when i sat down at about 11pm to build a LittleBigPlanet level, and was surprised when i looked at the clock after what felt like an hour, and discovered it was 5am.

I dont lose track ALL the time. If i have to be at work later or need to go somewhere, i'll be checking the time every 5 mins.

ps... This is my VERY first Escapist Forum post. i literally JUST signed up.

That's rather the point, isn't it?

I'd be more surprised if a game didn't make someone lose track of time.

Severely so. Once I get immersed in a game, I can play for countless hours, the worst example is playing for a solid day and a half before realizing how long I'd been going. I'd changed the game once but even then I didn't have any concept of how long I'd been playing.
I wouldn't count this as being addicted. More that I didn't have anything better to do and could kill that many hours with a game.

First time I played Red Dead Redemption. Started at 2:30... suddenly it was 10:30 and I was suddenly tired.

As of late, Oblivion has done this to me. "Ah, 6.30pm, I'll play for a couple of hours." Fast forward 10 hours..."...Oh shit, it's 4.30am!"

Games that have also done this to me in recent weeks is Fallout: New Vegas, Fable III and Bioshock 1. Also, any and all new games I buy but I'm sure plays new games to death when they get them on a weekend.

My final push to finish GTAIV and see it's awesome story through lasted 20 hours. I finished that game in three sessions.

Always, recently Fable III and Assassin's Creed.

Although I've kind of trained myself to "wake up" every half hour or so, which is paricularly good when I allocate myslef several hours of gameplay.

"Oh snap! What time's it?"
*Still got hours left*
"Awww yeaaaaaah!"

Sadly, now that I'm old, I don't have time to lose myself anymore.

I need a week vacation.

I would say it happens, but I always get texted, immersion breaks, and I check the time while I reply

10 straight hours of venturing the Mojave Wasteland with my freind.

That was probably the shortest sleepover ever.

A good game should make your week disappear =)

Just finished Assassins creed 2 and brotherhood, had plenty of "wait, it's night, how did that happen so fast?" moments
