I've always kind of wished I was born in the 50's so I could see the world evolving. I also would love to see the rise of video games in the late 70's and early 80's and how far technology has come.

Of course, there was always the Cold War....

Best Movie Ever

I dunno, does anyone else wish they born in a different time period?

Edit: For those who don't want to be born in the past, one must remember that one does not know how the world is going to turn out... just saying

I'll take about 100 years from now, please. Either we'll all be dead, or the world will be completely unrecognisable. The idea of being born in the past doesn't appeal to me at all, but this time period is a little risky. So close to life extending technology, but just far enough that I might not live to see it! It's a horrible thought! So yeah, shunt me forward a hundred years please! :D

I've always wanted to go back and be a knight... no idea why, but it just sounds awesome. However, I would probably die a horrible infection induced death, which would suck something fierce.

Other than that I would have to say no. I like my current time period, and I have my games, so I'm happy where I am.

And lose access to the modern technology, sanitation, and medicine? I think I'm fine right where I am thank ye much.

Though I would like to incorporate some of other time period's sense of style into modern times. It's such a sin we've had all these great styles of clothing throughout history and these days it's all thrown out the window for jeans + shirt with logo.

Perhaps the future (IE beyond my life time)

But, eh, I'm content with the here and now, wouldn't want to go backwards at all.

Maybe far into the future, I feel like I'm going to regret not being able to space-travel casually.

Goodness no.

I've always wondered why people are so nostalgic about the past. Sure, you might like the fashion or the music or whatever, but what about the low standard of living, the racism or sexism or crime or threat of war.

I'm pretty darn happy when I am.

I'd like to see what the Renaissance period was like.
Of course, I'd need to live in England or Italy in order to truly get the most out of it.

That or I'd like to live in the future, the future that involves aliens and awesome technological breakthroughs.

Yes... but in time periods that haven't happened yet. Rather than finding myself wishing to relive the past, seeing the world though the eyes of early pioneers and our ancestors, I'd prefer to have been born at an even more advanced age. Sure, I have no guarantees that such an age would ever be reached, or if it was reached, how it would fare compared to my imaginings. But as a sci-fi nerd and being fixated on space travel, I truly at times, wish I was born in an era where mankind flew amongst the stars. But hey, just my opinion.

The more I advance into the future, the more I'm glad I wasn't born in the past. I don't know how long it'll be until I can upload my brain into a computer, but if I was born in 2010 it would improve my odds of surviving until that point.

No, I wish I was teleported to the past with my knowledge intact, Then I could use my knowledge to formulate and manipulate the king or emperor of that given time, supplying them with weapons and scientific advancements then proceed to Coup his ass and become emperor.

Edit: Pretty much any time period before the 11th century.

I would like to have been born 200 - 500 years in the future I think that if we are still around then we will have grown out of our "Ima blow u up and the world with it" phase and will have learned how to actually solve disputes non violently unlike now when we say "violence is not the answer" but still kill each other on a daily basis.

Oh hell yes. I want to see Pink Floyd live. If only I was born, say, even twenty years early, I could've done just that. I just missed out. God hates me. Other than that though, I'm pretty happy in this time period. I like the technology, and I have no interest in knowing what comes later. I might not like what I find.

It's because jeans and shirts are cheaper and easier to mass produce. Louis XIV had a flair for designer clothes. And I think I would look damn great in one of those fancy silk corset dealies with the full ruffles and my hair coifed, whatever that means.

Damn, I wish I had those clothes...

OT: The future. you could replicate anything you wanted, like clothes from history.

If I'd been born any earlier, I might not have lived to see my eighth birthday. Appendicitis nearly cut short my young life in second grade.

If I could've been healthy, ancient Rome---preferably out in the provinces and away from the annoyances of the big city.
