I might be the only one who thinks this way, but have you ever felt bad because you got a kill in online mulitplayer? Or is every kill just another point for you?

It's a weird question, but I think it says something about me. I'm too much of a softy.

Of course if they are just a complete asshole, I revel in it.

Never. Crush all in your path.
Tis the only way to achieve victory.

No. I love every kill I get. If its an especially good kill and it seems to emotionally upset them I rub it in. Ive felt bad about killing people in KoTOR but never in multiplayer.

If I accidently team-kill, then yeah, but killing the enemy, no. Actually, it's the opposite when I kill the enemy.

Nope, the only time I ever felt bad for killing anyone in a game was when I accidentally killed some random resident in Megaton.

They're the enemy. They deserve no sympathy.

If my team gets in the way, they're shielding the enemy from my bullets and thus are traitors to the cause.

Kill, kill and kill again because anything less is to let your team down.

Sometimes when I feel that I'm so many levels above them on the food chain I feel a little tingle inside of me, but the blood splatter just negates that feeling.

I had a momentary lapse of empathy in a game before, but then I got killed in a rather irritating fashion, and realised it's kill or be killed, we know what we signed up for. So mow down everyone in your path, young pyro, for you cannot spell slaughter without laughter.

Occasionally I feel a pang of regret if I shoot down someone who's obviously not very good at the game. (keeping in mind that this is from the perspective of someone who isn't very good at multiplayer himself, so whoever I beat must really suck.) However, I quickly rally when I realise that he/she'd have done the exact same thing to me if our competency levels were reversed, probably with a lot less regret.

Not in multiplayer, I feel bad for killing good people in games like Mass Effect. I find it challenging to bring myself to play as an evil character. Multiplayer I'm perfectly fine with. So I guess I feel worse about killing an A.I. then I do about killing a real person.

Uh... it's a game. A kill is just another point in a game. After all, they'll just reappear soon enough...

EDIT: But in games like KoTOR, I can't bring myself to be a bad guy. It's just too against my nature, unless it's a game where the characters aren't well developed.

I know it's not fashionable to admit that as a gamer I actually have emotions other than "enemy must die", but then I've never been fashionale so hey here goes...

I feel bad sometimes. Sometimes when I score a really devious kill I remember how pissed off I was when someone did that to me and it ruins my enjoyment. Sometimes if I kill someone with a really overpowered, unfair weapon, one that should in all seriousness be removed from the game (the AWP or Deagle in CS, the knife in most Battlefield games) I actually apologise to them. There's way more of a sense of fun and achievement with killing someone using a gun that's trickier to use anyway. I like to earn my kills.
