I'm talking Great White/Tiger/Bull sharks. And Grizzly or Kodiak Bears. Any Brown Bear really.

Now which do you feel safer around?

In Truth, Bears avoid people and are rather shy. They are attracted by human food, garbage, or hunter-killed game. So if you are careful with your food, You'll be allright. Usually bears ignore people in the wild.

Sharks are dangerous as well, but normally pose little threat to humans. Again, it's the circumstances that attract sharks to humans. They're just looking for food. Humans are too bony to be appropriate prey, and are confused with seals or such.

Personally, I'd feel safe around either normally. Though I love sharks. I'd probably feel better around sharks, because I'm more familiar with their behavior.

Now if Megalodon still existed, Nobody would dare swim in the ocean at all. Normal sharks teeth are about an inch long. Megalodon had 6.5 inch teeth. They estimate his length to be up to 67 feet.

What an odd question.

I think I'd feel safer around bears but that's just because I can't swim.

Bears, as to get near a shark i'd be in the water and i can't swim so i'd be fucked. And don't say "oh you could be on a boat" cause if i can be on a bot when the sharks in the water, then i can be in a helicopter while the bear is on land making it all redundant

And I've actually been near a bear. Peaceful enough, I've only ever seen a shark from far away. Scary looking fuckers.
Agreed. Pandas are bears and their damned cute, so are bear cubs. Have you ever seen a young sharkling cub thing and thought it was cute? Fuck no! In a big twist of the plot it turns out the baby sharks are actually called pups, so next time someone you don't like wants a puppy you know what to do now.

Anyway, everyone knows it's Honey Badgers which are the real danger... *shivers*

Bear...

Sharks can attack me from any possible angle in an environment I can barely move at 10% of their speed...

Bears are effing dangerous but I have a better idea where a bear is attacking me from, not to mention I still have a chance (Slim one) to escape

The badger is among the fiercest hunters in its range, with prey including earthworms, insects, scorpions, porcupines, hares, ground squirrels, meerkats, mongooses, and larger prey such as tortoises, crocodiles up to one metre in size, young gazelle and snakes (including pythons and venomous species). They also take lizards, frogs small rodents, birds and fruit. The badger's ferocious reputation reflects its tendency to attack animals larger than itself; it is seldom preyed upon.

I have to admit, these fuckers are fierce.

This topic made me giggle. Okay. Bears. I can see them when they approach. Sharks, they be sneaky bastards, all under the water and shit, coming up from the depths. They make no noise before they attack. And as good a swimmer as I might be, there is no way I am going to be able to out swim a shark. It is possible, with enough adrenaline, and in the right situation, I might, just might be able to outrun a bear. Or startle it with my womanly screech of terror. One of those things. I don't think sharks care much if you scream. It probably turns them on.

Bear cause a grizzy couldn't climb up a tree after you while a shark can get at you no matter where you swim.

Glad to see that you understand our problem, once they get bored of fucking up their local wildlife we are totally screwed into oblivion. One day other people will realise all these Sharks vs Bear threads will end in a win for the Honey Badger.

Bears, they're like fuzzy tractors.
You have no idea how funny this post was to me.

OP: I would rather avoid confrontation with anything that wants to eat me.

But if I must choose.... Bears. 'Cause their fuzzy.

I feel safer around bears. While i may not be completely comfortable around them I feel as if i could get away from it much more easily and less people get attacked and killed by bears than sharks.

Yep they totally are, apperently some people think they are raccoons. Though personally they look more like a bear to me, you know, with them being fucking bear shaped and all :D

Depends on my location, on land I'd prefer to be around sharks and in water around a bear.
This explains how to set up a fight between the two.
