I don't tend to finish JRPGs.

Well, I fixed that now.

But back in the JRPG heyday of the PS1/PS2, there were so many that I couldn't finish most of them.

If I love it to pieces.

Games that come to mind:

Tekken 6 (PSP-Alisa Bosconovitch*)
P3P (going to finish it and play through it again)
Mass Effect 2
Crisis Core
Chrono Trigger

....I have a thing for redundant games, especially if they're made in Japan. I know it.

* Alisa Bosconovitch is all of my favorite things bundled into one entity. She's a female android with a Russian name who hails from Japan. Could there be anything more grand? Irrefutable answer: No.

Well, I almost always beat the single player, but if there's other stuff you need to do in order to get 100% (higher difficulties, collectables, etc) I usually half-heartedly try before giving up.

Except for Bioshock. Quite possibly the only game I've ever beat 100%.

I try to complete games, with games i realy like i even try to complete all achievements. The only thing stoping me from completing a game is time. I would say that about 70% completed and 10% not completed and 20% not even started.

I say this often: To many games to little time!
Sad but true:p

If I play them I complete them more often than not; although less so recently, due to college and no having enough time to game properly. :(

I finish most of them. Open-ended RPGs? Not at all. FPS with all achievements? Nope. I'll play a game through it's main story, and if it's got a decent multi-player platform I'll give it a few goes. But I'm not that gung-ho about many games now-a-days.

Depends on the game.

I finished Resident Evil 4 over 20 times, on Pro Mode, single weapon runs, etc.

I've never finished the main plot of Oblivion, but I enjoy it just as much, and have probably invested MORE time into it.

Then there're games I just don't want to play. Why force myself to finish something I dislike?

Being able to finish a game is usually my indication that I like it. If a game is bad (painful) or average (boring) I will probably not finish, I will probably get through more of the latter though.

If I can finish a game, that shows me that it was a good game and kept me interested. The most recent game I didn't finish was Splatterhouse because it got boring after a while and I was feeling its length. The most recent game that I am almost certain I'm going to finish is Crysis 2 because the gameplay is fun and the story is... well I like gameplay :p

I really do the same thing for games that I do for movies or books. If my entertainment bores me, annoys me or entirely rubs me the wrong way for another reason (be it because of style or because of the morals presented, among other things), I'll put it down. In the end, I've finished most of the games I played, finished most of the books I've read and watched most of the movies I thought might be interesting until the end.

I try to finish every game I have, and I think I have. It took me a while to finish Final Fantasy VIII, but other than that, if I get a new game, it's basically the only game I play until I finish it.

It's gotten a lot harder to do since I have a lot more school work in Grade 12 :(...

Of course, except the ones I cannot finish, because it's impossible to. Games like Diablo 2 or Disgaea which seem like they could end, but never actually do. Often I have more than 3 games in progress. Currently, it's Silent Hill 3, Dissidia 012 and Just Cause 2. I'm actually so stubborn when it comes to completing a game that I actually sat through FFXIII just to finish it. I regret that decision. Severely.

I'll generally try to finish the campaign/story mode.100% completion?Rarely unless it's interesting/fun and doesn't involve grinding and collecting numerous pointless objects

If you bought a game why the hell wouldn't you finish it? Seems like a waste of money if you don't; unless you end up hating it that is

I have 40 games on steam.. and I've completed... 2 of them..

mh.. well..

Me and one of my mates talked about how we play differently the other day, see, he plays a game once. One time, and thats that.

he get's his 20 hours and he is finished.

In Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2 I have 61 and 82 hours played respectively, And I am 17 hours into Dragon Age: origins and haven't even started the play through i want to run with.

Now thats Bioware games, those long motherfuckers that take ages, My fallout games sit on 62 and 106 hours on their own, the less story heavy are not as throughly played but I do my swing..

But I've finished Portal.. and.. Mass Effect.. >.> ME2 isn't finished because it's only my second play through and Mordin died so the.. nvm but I'm not really a completionist.

Oh yes, my collection of uncompleted games could fill a small truck. Crap, just thinking about it makes me sad

I just recently got a 100% on AC2. That was hard. Especially the feathers. Now its time to do it again on AC:B. Look out Borgia Flags!
