I always do that. I only finish the really good games. I guess I just don't have the time.

I always finish the story, unless the game doesn't want me to.

Don't usually go for 100% completion, though. I can see the appeal, but after a while you just want to do something else.

Depends, I finish most of the games that I start, except when it starts to turn into a grindfest. It's fine if I fast tracked, and I need to catch up, but 10 hrs later and its never happening again.

I used to just play a single game until I had finished the main campaign. Then I'd move on to the next one.
But since I got a decent gaming computer I've just been able to buy so many cheap games, even while I'm still not finished with the one I'm currently playing. Damn you Steam and your weekend sales, constantly filling up my games library with games that I'll be lucky to get to before the next interesting game goes on sale.
I've got at least 30 games that I still haven't even gotten to yet.

I try my best, but there are quite a few games that are stuck on my backlog. Dead Space, Half Life 2, Saints Row, GTA 4, Just Cause 2, Bad Company 2, etc.

I do now, but a large amount of the Gamecube titles that I own were never completed the first time around. I still haven't finished Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow

For the most part I do finish a lot of games.

There are a few games from my childhood that I have yet to beat though. One in particular being Pokemon Red. It was the very first RPG I've ever played. I want to beat it so I can get some sort of closure. Thankfully I can play it online.

I tend to 100% (or as much as possible) every game either on the first or second playthrough, but if the game can't hold my attention then I stop. Sometimes a second playthrough will bore me and I'll finish it in chunks (I've been hacking away at a AssCreedII playthrough since January) but I really hate leaving things unfinished.

If I buy a game, I force myself to finish it, unless it's a compilation, then I just beat the games that I'm interested in and leave the others to rot. Games I do own that I want to get around to beating though:

Nights into Dreams
Phantasy Star II
Phantasy Star Online Episode II
Shining Force II

and I just realized that all of those games were made by Sega, weird.

a games gotta be pretty lousy for me to not finish (those are normally the games that make me throw my controller across the room after twenty minutes)
Saying that tho, I don't have to complete a game 100%, searching round games for the last hidden *blank* is my idea of hell!

If a game can hold my interest for long periods of time, I can beat it (as long as it's a console game). If it can't do that, or if it's impossibly hard, I give up and play something else (I have that problem with PC games).

Other than Magicka, I try to complete every game I buy at least once. Stupid Yetis.

It depends, i lost interest in Red Dead Redemption, mostly cuz i got pissed off with trying to kill a bear with a freakin knife, silly stuff like that always happens to me when i play games, only for me to come back to it later... unless i start playing something else and completely forget about it.

Also, i haven't "finished" Dead Rising 2, i usually end up slaughtering zombies for 10 minutes when i feel like i need to vent and forget about the cases. And i have a pile of JRPGS i have hardly played, i find them very hit and miss, some i play through in insane marathon sessions and others i quit an hour or two in.

I try to finish every game to the end of story. I don't care about getting 100%, just finishing the main campaign. With that said, I try not to buy any new games until I finish the last game. That's going to be fun this year with all the stuff coming out. I'll be playing until my eyes bleed, and my fingers are nubs just so I can get done for the next.

As a general rule, I will always try to finish the campaign mode at least once in any game I purchase. If I'm enjoying the game, that won't often be a problem and if I'm not, I'd still like to see how it ends. To this day, there are only a very few games that I've never seen the credits of.
