The World Cup is the only bit of Football that I really care about. I like to keep track of the Premier League a little bit but it's just too depressing watching Aston Villa fail all the time.
The world Cup is about as exciting as football gets. I like to watch England fail (being Welsh, and therefore resentful of the English, it can be quite euphoric watching the most over-hyped team in the world crash and burn) I do, however, despise all of the hype that surrounds the World Cup. On every TV channel they show the same footage of when England won the cup all those years ago and stupid patriotic bullshit about how England will win this year.
To be fair, this cup has been pretty dull (plenty of draws and bugger all happening) but I like to support the under-dogs such as the Ivory Coast, New Zealand, Slovakia, Cameroon etc. and I've always supported the Netherlands for various bizarre reasons. The World Cup itself is exciting but everything else that surrounds it (especially British culture) fills me with disdain.
