On the main topic: I don't hate them, that's silly. Though yeah, it sure is a pain when you know you are right and people keep arguing. I mean, it's not like when you know you are right, that you can actually be wrong.

There's a simple answer your instructor (I assume you're in a class of some sort) could give these idiots to shut them up. "I don't care what Wikipedia says, for the purposes of this class we're going with the definition outlined in the book. You can either abide by this or leave now."
