I always find it funny though, I'm a musician, I love the feeling music gives me, but even I know that our brains are nothing more than a form of computer, made of organic matter.
I come from a family of people who are musicians, my grandmother is a Pianist who has played with a few of the orchestras up here in canada, she's learned and taught musical theory, and is a christian, who doesn't share my views of the human condition and even she agrees that music is math, pure and simple, resonance on different wavelengths in the audible spectrum that cause reactions in the brain.
The definition of art is a much less straight forward argument, and it seems that a lot of people get these two arguments mixed, as music is an art, but then again so is fighting, and dance, and salesmanship(which is where a lot of the sales of obscure and pointless splatter art or two tone canvas art, ends up classified by anyone who has seen any other art, I mean the art of bullshitting, has got to be the art behind any paintings that are a canvas with one colour on them, with no detail being sold to anyone with eyes, as you can easily replicate it with a paint roller and a bucket of paint on your wall for a sliver of the price of a painting, and it would likely hold the same meaning to you as it did to the artist(money, or the saving of money on your end))
But that's neither here nor there, as the art of the debate is in itself the heart of forums, so please do continue, as it gives me something to read.
And I seriously mean this, I do not patronize those who desire discourse, as it is in itself a higher form of entertainment, as it is not passive and generally requires a level of thought.
