I watched all of Lucky Star a few years ago.
Yes. ALL OF IT.

First anime I ever watched, and I've only just started watching Fullmetal Alchemist since. I don't know, it was really out of the blue for me. I guess I just got addicted? In my defence it was pretty funny...

Looking back on it though, I kind of begin to despise it...

OMFG how did you make it
i couldnt finsh it i barely made 2 disc's

Oran High School Host Club. One of the funniest things ive ever seen in my entire life, yet I cant stand its intro.
Same here man. I had to turn the television off during the opening and ending just because I felt super fruity with it playing.
Wow after a quick youtube session, I can see why you had to turn off the tv for the opening. That is probably the fruitiest op I have ever seen.

I have a problem watching anime in general. Very rarely will I find one like samurai champloo which doesn't make me want to rip my ears or brain out to spare them the damage.

Those classification can die in a fire. They're sexist, stereotypical, and useless as there's no polls that measure what percentage of the audience is which sex/age group. At best it's an incredibly subjective, overly simplified guess that completely ignores the fact that most shows are going to try and hit multiple demographics in order to make a lot of money. I've seen Strawberry Panic and ARIA be referred to as shojo, josei, seinen, and shonen on various occasions. When a single show gets thrown into 4 different mutually exclusive categories you know there's a damn problem.
I don't think those terms are mutually exclusive. They merely refers to marketing demographics and the common themes. If a series is made for more than one types of demographics then there's no reason why it can't belong in more than one category.

That being said His and Her circumstances is a pretty good "girly" anime.

But back on topic, have you tried reading a manga called Demon Diary? It's pretty well done, it's korean made, it's short, and kind of borders on being yaoi and not. If you haven't, try looking it up.
A manhwa? No, never read any of those...does sound interesting, though. I'll keep it in mind.

And honestly, my only objection to yaoi is the prevalence of rape and unintentionally absurd plots, so as long as it's neither...

Never tried watching any girly animes. I don't have anything specific against them, there's just nothing there that interests me enough to try any of them.

Yes I really need to post a warning on those. If you look at them too long they can probably melt your brain

Some of my favorite anime shows include Toradora and Ouran High School Host Club, so I think that answers your question.

Wait a second, are we talking about shows with cute girls that are targeted towards guys or shows with moderately cute girls targeted towards girls?

Ya, no rape or anything in it...and the yaoi is more along the lines of hmm...older brother caring for younger brother, only with more d'awwww and pretty man faces...and humor.

And you people are getting Lucky Star and Azumanga Daioh stuck in my head again x-x

Given that my back catalog of favorite anime can be described as consisting of:

A surprising amount of reverse-harem shows
A surprising amount of pure romance show
A surprising amount of relationship and personal-growth driven shows

I'm gonna go with no, I don't have a problem with it. If I were going to run down my favorite shows, and why I loved them:

1. RahXephon. Take out all of the giant robot fights, and it's basically just about Haruka finally getting up the guts to tell Ayato she loves him, and about Ayato becoming mature enough to comprehend and accept it. Throw in the realism of Megumi's relatively unhappy ending, and I loved it.
2. Full Metal Panic. Take out the giant robot fights, and it's just about Sousuke learning how to be a functioning normal person, and realizing just how much he cares about Kaname. And about Kaname realizing (in true tsundere fashion) that she loves him, too. Then bad things happen to her, and he goes apeshit, basically
3. D.N Angel. I barely have to remove anything for it to just be about the love life of the main male character. It's just done so damned well. It doesn't pull any punches, and really treats it like "how would this work in real life". The girl who seems to be a selfish ***** who doesn't appreciate him or reciprocate his feelings, never reciprocates his feelings. I just love it.
4. Revolutionary Girl Utena. It's a deep, psychological, story presented in the guise of a pretty straightforward magical girl set up. Girl gets dragged into fights for the "rose bride", first out of a desire to revenge her friend against a douchey guy, and then to protect the bride. The girl in question wants to be a prince, and... God, it's just all about the psychologies and relationships.
5. Negima!? Cute little boy (who happens to be a wizard) is brought to Japan as part of his training, and becomes a teacher at a girl's middle/high school. In the process, he befriends the girls, and ends up basically turning them into an army of magic-infused superwomen. I classify it more as a girl's anime (a) because it doesn't have much of any fanservice (one shot, which given the angle of the shot makes sense), (b) the characters are deep and emotional, (c) the girls end up being more useful and capable than Negi himself, and (d) it's much more a nakama thing than a harem thing.
6. Ouran High School Host Club. It's a recent show for me (and I just wrote a review about it), but talk about a shojou anime. It's got basically exclusively girl-centered fanservice (not explicit or that bad, but the yaoi fangirls were atwitter about it), a main female lead who's (at best) completely disinterested in issues of gender, and (at worst) wants to be a boy. And it's about the relationships of the characters. And I loved it from start to finish.

Now, do I also watch some more male-centered anime? Sure. I even watched Rin: Daughters of Mnemosyne (which I'd review, if I could bring myself to rewatch it; short version: dear god no). The problem I find is that violence in and of itself has no meaning for me. Violence with a purpose (especially righteous indignation, see: Taken), is fantastic, but I have to be able to feel with the man committing the violence. Fanservice is kind of weird for me... If I wanted pornography, I'd watch pornography; I find it detracts from the actual story. And I like stories, and characters, and especially ones I can relate to.

So, maybe I'm a chick, I dunno.

Now I kind of want to review Mnemosyne... The symbolism and metaphors are interesting in a "what kind of cracked-out mind came up with this" kind of way.

Oh man, I can completely relate. Those are my exact same problems with that genre. I can only conclude that the Japanese have a seriously messed up love of rape. Their hentai is almost entirely about rape. Their gay pron is basically all rape as well.

What gives, Japan? What gives?
I think they're also more honest about the fascination with it. Rape is one of the most common fetishes (for both men and women), and I think there is some part of us which enjoys the fantasy of "I'm so desirable that this person cannot restrain him/herself". Japan just took it and ran with it. They're more open about it, we're more closeted, I think.

The other side of it is that there's plenty of older American media (remember, please, that anime is still a relatively new medium) which included rape. Scarlet O'Hara went to bed screaming, and woke up singing, yanno? Tell me that isn't disturbing.
