Well, I did Watch the Love-Hina Series...Mind you, I'm Not truly sure if that qualifies as a girly anime series, or more of a romantic comedy/Feminist power trip.

Seriously, after watching what could basically be called "all Women are in possession of a vast array of super powers and/or technological weapons, and will use these to hurt you because you have a penis and that makes you evil!!", I have a whole new level of respect for women. or is it fear? Yeah, probably fear.

PS: 500th post? Here I was hoping it would be about something Cake related. Ah well, maybe next time.

I've highly enjoyed Spice & Wolf, including the romance parts. I wouldn't describe it's as a "girly" animé though. Toradora! and Gunslinger Girl (somewhat surprisingly) are probably the most girly I've (partially so far) seen, and either had aspects appealing to males as well.

Most shojo girl stuff turns me off.
His and Her's Circumstances (Kare Kano) was very good imo (anime and manga).
Then of course I read some yaoi (quality yaoi, not just whatever looks good on the cover) so I guess a dude like myself can appreciate varaity.

Clannad was interesting, though the "super cute harem of girls" Japanese aesthetic always mystified me in anime culture. I can appreciate "Kawaii" if it's like a cat or dog in an anime or manga (even cat/dog boys/men can be cute)... but "kawaii" as it applies to everything else in Japanese Pop culture never registered with me.

Does Tsubasa Chronicles count? I watched that and it was okay I guess.

As for Fushigi Yugi though, that left me severely disappointed.

I rather enjoy some shojo anime. Really, a bit of romance and drama is a refreshing change of pace after yet-another-Dragonball-Z-wannabe leveling up for 250 episodes.

However, I do have the draw the line somewhere. Lets say that line can be found within Shugo Chara [http://www.crunchyroll.com/shugo-chara]. Decent enough magical girl anime, mostly focused on the main character's emotional state, I can somewhat stomach it. Then around comes season three when they're having live action actors demonstrate how to paint their nails... okay, the line has just been crossed.

Incidentally, Lucky Star is considered shonen [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sh%C5%8Dnen_manga] (anime for boys 10 or older or sometimes just kids of that age), not shojo (anime specifically for young girls only). As is Anumanga Diaoh. Really, most animes based off of cute girls in school, because they're basically showcases of 2D girls for the boys to get emotionally attached to in order to sell all kinds of merchandise [http://www.google.com/products?q=lucky+star].

So I don't think they count as watching a truly "girly" anime. (Granted, girls might enjoy those animes too, but for different reasons - grabbing both genders appeal is even more profitable than specifically targeting one, after all.) Try that Shugo Chara link I provided for a relatively tame "girly" anime.

Does Clannad count? Because that show killed me emotionally. Seriously, I cry in everything now. I never did before that show, but now I do. It was just so freaking good.

"Girly" is hardly a good yardstick, if you mean romance then the only I don't have any problem with them provided there good (things like please twins, shuffle and kannon come to mind, yes i know the latter two were based off h-games), or perhaps you mean magical girl shows, if thats the case then I have only encountered two that I can stomach (Shakugan no Shana and Mai Hime) but I went the extra mile and looked up a list of shojo shows on TV tropes, and by and large I don't have particular problems watching them (with the exception of the aforementioned genre, and the two exceptions were seinen shows anyway), some even surprised me, like Ouran.

TL:DR version: as long as it isn't a magical girl show or shit then I'm fine with it.

I don't really like girly anime's , they just annoy me generally lol but I love a lot of other animes like FMA and Code Geass.

Predictably there are so many comment on this thread saying "I don't like any anime" - such a waste of a post as doesn't answer the question and clearly the thread isn't for you. People trying to up their post count imo.

About time someone mentioned:

A show I very much enjoy, in original unedited form of course, all several hundred episodes of it.

No, I have no such problem. Should I? If the show's good, I'll watch it regardless of genre or label.

Back when I watched anime regularly, I did tend to gravitate towards the girly animes.
Chobits, Fruits Baskets, I'm not sure if Grenadier counts but that one too. There was also one I can't remember the name of. It was about this vampire chick that was kind of like a day walker with huge tits and the hots for this one guy with "abnormally large" eyes. She also has chronic nosebleeds.
???

[EDIT] I found out the name of it and it's Karin. She would get nosebleeds around depressed people. I don't have the time to describe the story so just go watch it.

I know that's why I like it. it's like the Seinfeld of anime... a show about nothing...
