No problem with watching "girly" anime... Can't remember any I've seen, but I have seen quite a few...

Do love Toradora... Taiga in particular... so cute...

But back on topic, have you tried reading a manga called Demon Diary? It's pretty well done, it's korean made, it's short, and kind of borders on being yaoi and not. If you haven't, try looking it up.
A manhwa? No, never read any of those...does sound interesting, though. I'll keep it in mind.

And honestly, my only objection to yaoi is the prevalence of rape and unintentionally absurd plots, so as long as it's neither...
Oh man, I can completely relate. Those are my exact same problems with that genre. I can only conclude that the Japanese have a seriously messed up love of rape. Their hentai is almost entirely about rape. Their gay pron is basically all rape as well.

What gives, Japan? What gives?
Oddly enough, <url=http://www.escapistmagazine.com/articles/view/issues/issue_145/4629-Its-A-Yaoi-Thing>there's been an actual article on that, here.

Inadequate summary: yaoi is gay porn for straight women, because two men are less threatening.

No, not at all. I love it. Toradora! was great and Clannad and Kanon made me cry several times.

No, I do not mind girly anime at all.. A lot of it. Although there are a lot of things I will never watch or read.
They're some that are just... ugh.

I like my anime the way I like everything else. (why would I watch something I wouldn't usually watch, just because it's drawn by Japanese people?)

Either packed full of action, being centred around something either super natural or occult like, psychologically thrilling and/or depressingly gritty, utterly insane, something with an impossible plot that keeps you guessing until the last second or full of sub plots that are art housish metaphors for real life situations.

I would also add horror but I can't think of one anime that manages to implement horror well.

So no. I do not like girly anime.

In-fact the cutsey type of shit that's full of under-age girls making provocative noises at every possible chance and finding themselves is adult situations... well they anger me.

I hate this whole sub culture of weebo's that has emerged. With this fucking retarded idea that women should have ridiculously high voices, be incessantly annoying, subservient to men and bland.

It disgusts me.
Pretty much this. Also, I think that last paragraph is the reason I probably didn't get any further than FF XIII. Goddamn Vanille.

Ehh. Maybe. Toradora isn't quite the girliest, but I won't touch yaoi with a 90 foot pole. No fucking way. But those animes the OP said, aren't quite the girliest.

Girly animes are the only animes I watch.
I just really don't like action based animes for some reason.

If 'Only Yesterday' is "girly anime" then my problem with it was that it is incredibly conservative, equally though it is this conservatism and nostalgia which makes it intereting in terms of themes that seem to occur in much of Japanese cinema.

EDIT: I should probably add I am not a paticularly big anime fan.

I've seen a few. Azumanga Daio was great and, Bottle Fairy was so cute it damn-near killed me. Other than the overly-cute ones, there are the dramas like Suzuka which I like. Not sure if that one counts though...

I tend to enjoy some manga and anime with non-sexualized female protagonists tackling various problems and challenges in their lives, and perhaps find love.

They're usually better than ones with male protagonists, for some reason.

Ouran High School Host Club, Skip-Beat!, Power!!, etc.

Nope. I've seen Lucky Star, I liked it, and I've seen Ouran High school Host Club, which I really liked.

I've also been meaning to see Azumanga Daio, but I'm too lazy to bother.

I don't have a problem with girly anime as in if I hate it for some reason, it's more of I can't get into watching it that is the problem.
I have watched Sailor Moon and Cardcaptor in the past although I have watched a few episode of Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya and the Lucky Stars OVA but I can't be bother to watch the rest of it. I think its the gene slice of life that find it hard to keep my attention to (I'm into shonen, mecha and action).
I admit however I have been interested by this recent show called Shinryaku! Ika Musume (squid girl). I found the main girl of the show adoreable.
Not sure if it consider to be a girly anime but the Tenchi series is one of my favorite (Tenchi Muyo) anime. Oh also if that other show Strike Witches is consider to be girly anime then I do have a problem with that anime (for obvious reason).

Of my favorite anime, most are geared toward boys/young men.
To each their own i suppose wink wink.
OT: I don't really like girly animes. They usually boil down to failed attempts at humor, bad storylines and lots of partial nudity. So yeah, not my cup of tea.
